Possible 221 purchase for the wife... Reliability talk

Hey fellas
I've been heavily considering a W221 purchase for the wife. This way, I can get the best of both worlds; a happy wife, and the W221 I've always dreamed about while still enjoying my new W222. LOL. I am only looking at Facelift W221s with RWD and AMG sport pkg. How is the reliability on these cars?? Anything I surely need to know about for this specific model? Engine problems? Airmatic? etc..? My guess is the TT V8 is pretty bulletproof since it was used all the way up until 2017. Do keep in mind, my S is the TT V6, so I am not familiar with the more common engine. Any information would help. What to look out for in the PPI? Stuff like that. Also, if you've encountered any problems you would like to list, please make state the mileage at which this problem happened and make sure you are talking about a facelift W221 with the TT V8. She drives about 20-25k miles a year but that will drop down to almost nothing in 2 years.

Thank you!
T :D

I have both old and new and have zero issues to report. It is however the NA W221, so I can't comment much about the facelift TT model years. As crazy as it sounds, I often times find myself preferring to daily the W221 over the W222. Not sure if its bc its winter time or what, but def still checks off many boxes to this day. So if you do pull the trigger for the wifey, you will "borrow" it more often than you'd expect. Happy shopping.

I daily a W221 S500 with the NA engine and it's been among the most reliable cars I've owned. Compared to my mother's Mini Clubman for example, the running costs are about half (no joke....that BMW crap breaks every month).
I have a close friend who has the same car but with the newer TT engine and his is as reliable as mine.
