Ghost Links installed

Hey guys, first time post. Wanted to share a few pics of my 2008 S550 4Matic. Coming up on 2 years now with the car with just above 50K on the clock. Refinished the OEM 19" wheels about a week ago as I was do for a tire change, along with 15mm spacers all around. Car was still sitting a little too high for me so I finally pulled the trigger on the lowering links. Ended up doing 7mm for front and 5mm for the rear adjustment. The overall goal was approx. 1" drop. Looks like we got it right on the first try, pretty happy with the outcome.

I bought my C63S from Paramus. This one I got from Benzel Busch MB over in Englewood. I then later traded in the C63 for the W222 at Benzel Busch as well.

Are you doing a wheel alignment? I read after you do links its highly recommended. I have the links but held off cause I literally just did a wheel alignment 2 months ago and paid $125.. would be a waste put these links in and spend another $125..any thoughts on this?

Going to try to make an appt this Saturday for alignment. As far as your situation is concerned, having to spend that $125 is waiting for you one way or another. In essence, you aren't really "saving" anything per se. Whether you install now, or later, you will presumably do an alignment and pay for it accordingly. Your call really.

refresh my memory..is the rear link suppose to be longer or shorter in order to drop the rear?
I have the short links that I need to install still.

We measured the factory ones. For the front we went longer to go lower. On my particular car, it was adjusted 7mm longer to be exact. The rear we went 5mm shorter. Just going off the instructions that came with it. They originally used 5mm as a standard, stating that a 5mm adjustment is approx. 3/4" to 1" drop. Was not sure if 5mm all around would be the same outcome, only because the front being heaver than the rear. I want to say that I remember reading that the rear should be adjusted slightly less than fronts, which is why I did the 7mm front (longer) and 5mm rear (shorter).

Hope that helps.

Rimola,

I used the wrong term when I said a "waste" of money. Simply put I think I can hold off on the links for a bit and get some use out of the brand new alignment I just got. Your car looks really good with it being lowered. Plus I have more pressing repairs/upgrades to do . Like painting the both quarter panels and rear bumper. Unfortunately one of the previous owners had these items painted and they look like they were painted with a spray can lol

100% understand. I was honestly going to put the links away until spring. My buddy however was more excited than I think I was and we just got them done. As far as future repairs, I know the struggle. I still have a few items on my list to do as well. As frustrating as it sometimes can be, it does keep interests high for me personally.

Is that Sport or Comfort mode?

Do you have air or ABC? Is the ride still nice or do you notice it got rough? It looks great at this ride height. I put links on my s600 and with a 1” drop in the front, the ride was aweful. I ended up with only about a half inch drop to keep a good ride. Maybe it’s because I have ABC. I did not do an alignment and have zero issues, but I don’t have it as low as yours.

Comfort. However, it should be noted that the car settles slightly lower once parked and off due to the airmatic suspension.

Air. I am about 1" all around. I want to say you can slightly feel that the car is lower, but I don't think its anything appalling as far as comfort and sacrifice is concerned.

Is there a reason you picked the ghost links vs all of the others on eBay?

I am curious as to the exact same point... I read here that ghosts can be adjusted while on car... not sure how though... their page does not provide any specifics.
