Best online auction to sell W221
I'm going to sell my two-owner (I bought it at the end of a 30 month lease up on Monterrey, CA) W221 (2012 S550 in Andorite Grey Metallic) in the San Diego area, which has 75k miles on it, with service records, no accidents, no dents, new tires, and in top 1% condition. Due to a growing family, I need to replace the W221 with a three row minivan or SUV that seats 6-7.
Trade-in values, CarMax, etc are all coming in at $15-17.5k, so I'm planning to try eBay Motors, Bring a Trailer, or CarGurus.
Which of these do you think would get me the highest price? Where would you set the auction reserve price?

WHy not trade it in and get the added benefit of Tax reductionon new car you Buy?
Where I live they take sell price and then subtract trade in and tax on this balance...

Not sure about San Diego County, but we've had luck selling our used cars on craigslist! Just stipulate "local pickup" and "cash only" in the ad, and be ready to be initially hit up simply for your "cell phone number" and other scams, like the fake cashier's check scam. Since you are planning to purchase a minivan anyway, you might as well try CarMax to eliminate the hassle on both ends.

Unfortunately, in California you pay on the sales price of the new car without getting any credit for the trade in.
