MERCEDES S CLASS NO SOUND/NO RADIO STATION ONLY ONE RED LIGHT BLINKS ON FIBER OPTIC.
Hi all,
I have a problem with my Mercedes S Class w221 2008. I bought a car a few days ago and I found out that there is no sound and no radio station in my unit. First I have checked amplifer and everything in the back. There was some rust and amplifer was broken. I bought a new one and cleared everything.
However nothing changed and it is the same problem. I am thinking it should be something with fiber optic, but i have no idea how to check if the fiber optic works fine. Only one light blinks on the connector to the amplifier.
Can somebody help me with that?
Thanks

Old thread but I got the same problem now. Just ordered the loop and I’m hoping it’s just the voice module and not the amp. No sound and no radio stations. Can’t tune to a radio station either.

Every W221 ever made has the broken Tuner Amp issue in the boot at some point in the car's life - it was designed with this capability

he never came back - he likely bought another broken one second-hand, in an attempt to try and replace the one he had, on a budget.....
you can't loop out the AMP is part of the system
