How can I tell if I have an SWB or LWB W221 S Class
It may seem like a stupid question, but I've bought a 2006 S Class W221 and I don't know if I have a long or short Wheelbase car. Nothing to compare. Is there an easy way to know for sure?
Thanks in advance.

Best way is through the VIN: https://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/mercedes/
Second best: sit on the back seat. Believe me, if you had the LWB you would know.

According to Wikapedia, all W221 S550 models in the US are Long wheelbase
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merced...S-Class_(W221)
…. The S-Class is available in short-wheelbase form, except in the US,[8] Mexico,[9] Russia, China and Indonesia,[10] where all models are long-wheelbase.
Or you could measure the wheel base on your car :
Wheelbase
SWB: 3,035 mm (119.5 in)
LWB: 3,165 mm (124.6 in)

Look at some pics on eBay or wherever.. you'll see the difference quickly if you look at the size of the window in the rear door. This works for most S class models of any generation.
You'll quickly see that the SWB has a smaller "square" window and the LWB has a larger "rectangle" shaped window. After looking at a few pics, you'll be able to recognize the difference on any S class.
Yes, the best way is by VIN but I can tell when a car passes me which version it is. There's a code in the VIN I believe that is either a V or W. V means long and W means short. Easy way to remember is that they are backwards... V is a very narrow short letter (meaning long wheel base) and W is a wider longer letter (meaning short wheel base). That's how I remember it, and has worked with all S classes since model W126 (1981) .. and probably works for earlier too.
