2009 S63 Phone calls drop over Bluetooth

2009 S63 Phone calls drop over Bluetooth
I can male calls and receive calls, but guaranteed the call will drop about 10 seconds in. If I wait long enough, and the person on the other end doesn't hang up, the call will come back, and then drop again.
Any suggestions?

if you have IR heat reflecting glass it substantially drops the signal strength to the outside world
the original phone system had an external antenna, most BT devices put that great feature in the bin
open the sunroof and the side windows and see if the signals pick up, if so try another phone or move
