Car doesn't start occasionally. Run flat + ESP inoperative
 

Hi All,

I have a 2011 S350CDI with 100k miles that recently developed an annoying habit of occasionally not starting.

Symptoms:
- When key turned, dashboard shows ESP and run flat inoperative in yellow. No engine checklights though. Reading errors only shows P0113 Intake Air Temperature Sensor and P00AD (again air intake sensor) errors which are not present at all when the car starts ok.
- When the car doesnt start, the pre-ignition glow sign doesnt show up on the dashboars. Also spotted that the car's air suspension compressor doesnt start the hissing sound that's usual when starting the car.
- Engine can not be started, not even a cough. Waiting 10 minutes, locking/opening, once a battery hard reset seems to make it work. After it starts, everything is fine and drives perfectly, no errors can be read from the car.
- Feels like happens more frequently at cold starts, never happened if car only switched off for very short period (less than 2 minutes), but did happen a few times when stopping at a resting place on a highway for approx 10 minutes.

So far MB dealer only replaced battery - guess they had no clue. Issues still came back.

So replace the IAT.
