P026A00 Fault - Charge Air Cooler
Hello all.
My turn to post a question please.
This is re my 2013 S550.
My Carly has come up with this fault code. P026A00 Fault code - The efficiency of the charge air cooler is not sufficient.
I cleared it and after driving my S550, it has re-appeared, so I think it is a genuine fault.
It is listed as critical and I fear it may be beyond my repair skills, but I am not sure which component to focus on ??
Idle speed is listed as a cause, but the idle is quiet and steady.
I will check the coolant levels this morning, but don’t know much about the No 1 Turbo pressure Sensor and how to check it.
The below clip is from the internet, where I went looking for more details on the fault code.
Is there a fix I can do gents, or should I just bite the bullet and head to a dealership ?
Regards,
Mirgy

first thing check the coolant level, there's a second bottle / reservoir for the charge cooler hidden under the engine cover I believe

Good call BOTUS !!
It was a warning about low coolant level in the secondary reservoir.
But the dealership also conducted a pressure test, while they had the car there and
Confirmed that there were no leaks..
So all in all, I am happy with the outcome. Also got a $60 discount for being a “loyal”
customer, even though this is only my second visit to them. But very happy that the
car was given a good going over and came out very healthy and the dealership has
not tried to make any money from me.
Thanks for your help and suggestions…
