Any aftermarket intake hoses??

Those hoses are just terrible. Second set i get, and i find them sucked inside blocking air. I've searched and searched and can't seem to find anything aftermarket. Is there anything better, or has anyone custom fabbed something?
Thanks

Did you look on Ebay? I've seen several options for the M273, so you might find some too. I'm sure they are from China, but it is a pretty simple part.

I can't find anything but OEM ones. I looked on ebay like you said also, and still nothing.

I have the non-turbo version and they're made out of a completely different material. Mine are longer and look like rigid woven canvas or something. You can't bend them. Yours look like dryer vent hose. I wonder if you can do something to a new replacement to make it last longer. Coat it in polyurethane or silicone or something?

I just cut them off for now. They kept getting sucked in blocking the intake.

Depends on the weather
Just measure the size and custom fab something yourself with aluminum.

Do I understand correctly that MB is no longer providing this part, or are you guys just trying to source a cheaper option? The last of these were built only 9 years ago..surprised if they have already stopped providing.

I think he's looking for aftermarket because the oem part is poor quality. OEM is readily available online and ebay.

Just the hose with the plastic ends. I mean it wasn't quick, as you can tell they're not new. But once they start breaking apart just a bit, it's over, they get sucked in and they completely come apart.

I haven't had a chance to buy them for this car yet, but I did go check and mine are as hard as a rock. Not sure if they are the originals or replacements from MB though.

There's no flex in this system. A rigid hose going to put all the engine movement stress on the plastic ends. Those plastic ends attach directly to your radiator. That's a lot of stuff that I don't want to crack.

Just be careful since other posters have warned about the lack of flex in these aluminum tubes. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here it is. Not the prettiest, but it works. Couldn't keep it together like in the video, had to expand the tubing due to the angle down.

Looks alright to me. Unless you go to car shows where people keep looking under your hood its fine. It does the job its designed for....to get cool air to the filter.

Good Job..
