Weird issue after sitting idle

I was driving normal parked the car in the driveway and had a 20 minute conversation. The car started to shake (sputter). I tried to give it gas and it wouldn't accelerate. No codes or check engine lights.

2010 s550 4mattic 80k miles

update** went out started it 30 min later worked fine. Something with getting hot while idle made something go into limp mode. Confirmed check engine lights all light up and work.

replace CPS - (Crank Position Sensor), back of the engine, a cheap UNRELIABLE sensor, that gets a reference for the engine management off the starter ring gear - they give up and it OFTEN gets worse with heat - so start OK in the morning - these nasty sensors tend to die every 50 k miles

MAY NOT throw a code - causes a stumbling and stalling issue at idle or closed throttle - $50 and buy the plastic "Pin Bush Housing" (the black multiplug housing) and do both with the engine cover off - the heat tends to ruin the plastic till it crumbles doing the job - its only $5 for the new plastic bit - Do Not Damage the pins pulling out of the old housing - on mine it was easy it just fell to bits - there are silly retention bits on the metal connectors but seldom can get at them... dremel off the old plastic rubbish and then it just clips in to the new housing like a brand new car - Take a photo so you remeber what colour goes to which location - faffing about not damaging the bits that matters you'll forget where they go
