It is amazing technology.
This is the sedan but the Coupe should look the same.

Looks gorgeous inside!

khmergod 06-07-2013 11:07 AM

Not your dad's S class for sure!

ZephyrAMG 06-07-2013 12:38 PM

That's right....just slap two tablet PCs in there and there you have it...

So disconnected, so UFO....:shakehead

ddcha 06-07-2013 12:47 PM

call me old fashioned, but I like real buttons, knobs and needles.

deadfission 06-07-2013 01:03 PM

^^ you're old fashion. MOAR TOUCHSCREENS!

jrcart 06-07-2013 01:43 PM

Sorry to say it but the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has a pretty similar dash set up, one of my friends owns one and it looks just like this. There is a screen where the instrument cluster should go and a screen where the regualr nav unit goes, he can put whatever he wants up on the gauge cluster, even the nav screen, the radio, an anolog gauge or digital gauge, MPH, Emails, pretty much anything. Althought the vav screen in the SRT is not nearly as large as that one in the S Class.

The dash vents remind me of this.

And I think the interior is way over done, contrived and disjointed.

MBAdon 06-07-2013 02:22 PM

yea the 4 dash circles are bothering me too

4ramin 06-07-2013 02:24 PM

that Dash looks disgusting wow, i guess Mercedes is now going down the hill also...

That's a good one. I'm also having a hard time digesting the new S-Class interior.

hyperion667 06-07-2013 03:04 PM

I wanna buy! but I wanna see it first

Ezec63 06-07-2013 03:47 PM

Nobody else noticed how thick the steering wheel is ?!? Looks amazing for what it is high end luxury GT car its not pretending to be a sports car

anthonymckay 06-07-2013 04:23 PM

I think that the dash is fantastic, and a natural next step! People just tend to hate change... I'm sure it'll grow on most people pretty fast.

solekeeper 06-07-2013 05:40 PM

i love these new gadgets... but can someone imagine owning a car like this out of warranty? It would be near impossible without extended.

It's the only possible way. I'm afraid when that day comes.

02Drunkenup 06-07-2013 09:35 PM

reserving judgement on instrument cluster until I see it in person but I like what I'm seeing so far.. and that steering wheel is SEX

bhamg 06-07-2013 11:12 PM

Wow! Can a dash get any fuglier than that...I think not. Simply hideous IMHO.

GRam 06-08-2013 02:17 AM

In the immortal words of the talking horse on "Ren and Stimpy"...
Well Sir, I don't like it...

Christ on a stick that's fugly. Was wanting a new C63 with the 5.5 TT but not if it looks like that inside... pass.

Adarah 06-08-2013 02:47 AM

although i can see how the 4 vents is a bit off, im going to have to say i kind of like it. i am hopelessly addicted to my other touchscreen devices though... my phone is rarely more than ten feet away :(

i have an aftermarket touchscreen now instead of some of the normal dash panel installed so i am already accustomed to the touchscreens in the car.

and i have to say - i HATE the control knob on the center console, so to me the touchscreen is an improvement over that.

Not sure why so many comment on the dual screens. This is old school by now, having been in the S-class for the last six+ years already.

Love the steering wheel! Wish that one would be available in the new S-Class

I wonder that nobody commented how small the side windows are and how high the window line is. Just look at the door panels!

Compare that to the current CL

jafores 06-08-2013 03:58 AM

At least the steering wheel looks ok, I absolutely can't stand the one on the sedan!

Those on stickers on the windows that mask the body lines. If you look closely the window goes a lot lower than that sticker that is creating a masked bodyline

They did the same thing on the headlights and tail lights

When looking at the inside door panel above the door opener and seat adjustment; it's huge and seems to be production level. No camouflage showing form the inside either. I think this is the actual body/window line...
