The buying experience......am I alone?
I would like to hear experiences/expectations from potential fall buyers like myself......such as the dealer you're going with, how you're going to buy (order or wait for lot arrivals), do you plan to finance, lease, or buy cash, and do you plan to negotiate or pay full msrp?.....
I hate to go into the experience alone and blind. Is there anyone out there who's in this boat with me?.....
I have 6 local dealership within 25 miles radius; all top notch. They all bend over backwards to keep the client happy. I have not decided on finance or lease but leaning towards lease.
I shop around for at least 2 weeks and visit at least 2 different dealers before making a decision. I request online quote too from dealers out of state (with similar options) and use them against my local dealers. But all 6 dealers in my area are high volume dealerships so they offer good deals.
As rule of thumb; package/price is depended on demand/supply. Usually new models will have higher demand in the early months but eventually will level out.
after having configured three already, I can't see going a different route.....
I'd certainly try and get the best price I could; plan on paying cash.....

I like the order process rather than get one off the lot.
This will be my first order if I do.....What about the process you like so much? Also, do you not mind paying full msrp by doing so?
Also just because I ordered does not automatically mean MSRP. I think I will pay the same whether its ordered or picked from the lot.

1. No....I've bought Mercedes cars from our dealer here in Mississippi, but I don't look it as a relationship I trust to give them loyalty. Been asking around with dealers all over the southeast U.S. trying to find one that seems trustworthy. To be honest, there's only one way to find a good one, and that's with a referral from someone. Because right now I have no clue who is a descent dealer.
2. Yes I have the order guide, and know what I want. I just wish the exclusive nappa had a price now...
3. I want the car by Thanksgiving. Looks like a long shot because a dealer in Houston told me the 1st wave of preorder is closed. And there's people waiting to get on the second wave. If you get on the second wave, you'll get a Nov/Dec delivery. If you don't get on the second wave, you won't get a car this year........according to her. Take it for what it's worth....
So all in all, I think I need to get this thing ordered and worry about the price later (and just hope it works out to be in my range). The main thing is I need to find a dealer people say is good, honest, and trustworthy.

On a somewhat related note, how much time do you have typically to change an order? Our order has the Burmester as well, which is causing the estimated production date to be September 3D. Still wanna tweak an option or two.

Check with your rep to see how much time you have. My estimated production date is September 1D but since Burnester 3D Audio is delayed until 3D, I am expecting for the production to be delayed. My order is already locked and has been for past 2 weeks I.e. I cannot make any changes. Your order should locked soon.

Also, sometimes when ordering a car you can negotiate the price because we don't have to sit on the car in the lot. It comes in and is already sold. We sell a large number of our cars through direct orders instead of off our lot. Just some food for thought.
