S550 Coupe Interior / Exterior Colors

S550 Coupe Interior / Exterior Colors
I have a bit of a dilemma...I want to buy an S550 Coupe the beginning of January, but the possible color combinations are a bit of a problem. My last two cars have been either black or white, so I was leaning toward Palladium Silver, or Iridium Silver. I really like the Saddle Brown Designo leather, but it traditionally goes with a black (or dark color) or white. Cars with Palladium Silver almost always have black leather, which I find boring. The Crystal Grey & Porcelain colors I find unexciting.
Does anyone here have any positive thoughts about Saddle Brown interior with colors other than a black or white?

I ordered mine with black and the saddle.. Boring I know but that's all I figured went well together. I saw the car in person today and was not all that impressed
it came off as very chunky.. I gave serious thought to just going back with another s63 sedan, guess I don't have to keep it forever and hopefully it will grow on me! I placed my order back in July and hate to give up my spot in line. Interior is beautifully done! But exterior just doesn't seem to flow very well

I had just seen the car shown in the silver/red interior scheme so many times, I thought for sure that the red interior would be offered. This is just another example of MB playing games with us. Show us something really wonderful and then tell us we can't have it. Anyway, I would never order a first year car no matter what. Give them a year to get the bugs out--and there will be bugs in a techno sled like this--and to then release all of their pissy holdbacks, like various colors, etc. If red is not available this year like you say--and I'm sure you know more than I do--then just call their bluff, sit back and wait. I refuse to buy into their "limited-edition-these-are-SOOOOOO-rare-and-hard-to-get-don't-you-wanna-be-the-first-kid-on-your-block-BULLSxxT! Not to mention that this year there will be no deals on these "rare" cars and next year, they'll bend over and say "please?"

MB had some production issues with some exterior color and options but that seems to be available to order now.

You can order the bengal red interior in any region, EXCEPT USA. Will be available later in this model year OR for the 16s.

Not sure of their logic, but maybe they want to push those Edition 1s, which actually come with almost 15k in free options, so in one hand they seem to be playing games with US, in the other they are taking care of us if you really want that bengal red...

I'm not really worried about first-year bugs because, as was mentioned, so much of the technology is from the S550 sedan (highly praised car) and the fact that the coupe was in development for a long time with a lot of private / public testing.
BTW, I wouldn't order the red interior even if it was available...it just ain't me.
One other question...is Mercedes using run-flat tires on the S550 Coupe even without the Sport Package?

Thanks. My sales rep said mid It's on constraint until mid Jan but I didn't know if it was on edition 1
MB initially had magic roof as an option for the 2014 S550 to be available 2nd half of production cycle. It was then cancelled for 2014 and was an option for 2015 - they pushed it again from the 1st production cycle to the 2nd half of MY15 but again it was taken out as an option for MY15 sedan.
Now we are playing the same game with the coupe. Hopefully they don't cancel that option once Dec-Jan rolls around. I did not want to wait around for that option to be available because I don't have much faith it will actually be available and since my incoming car has every option I wanted but the magic sky roof.

Not sure what that would do to the production date but the option is active on Netstar.

The dealer ended up trading their unchangeable allocation to a changeable one. We then changed that allocation to add options I wanted and in that screen we were not able to add magic sky. He even called production and they said it wasn't available to order yet
So it's available as an option to add but the real availability would mean if MB actually accepts that order and assigns a production date.

I was told by my dealer that I had an October production date. I went back this AM to view the demo again and the car looks much better from 20-30 feet away. Guess my first impression was from looking up close. On the configurator it shows the saddle leather with no seat piping and in all the pics I saw prior to ordering the designo seats all had piping. Hope it's just a computer glitch? Black is piped with white etc.. Guess just wait and see

I hate calling the dealer and being a pain but I'd really like to know about the piping on the seats! When are you expecting delivery? Please post pics when that bad boy arrives

Hi Sam, I'm sure your car is going to be beautiful! The one looks awesome on the mbusa configurator from the 3/4 rear view. What wheels did you choose? I personally like the AMG 5 spoke ( very classy) I chose the S550 Coupe in obsidian black/saddle leather, sport package etc! I'm hoping the magic sky control dosn't hold my order up! Don't feel about calling your dealer. That's what they are there for.
