Guy was maybe 80 years old and obviously didn't know the first thing about his car.
I was coming home from the old folks home the other day, and stopped by dealer to get my car washed. There was some little boy with an S65 in there, complaining loudly to the service manager that his mommy had bought his car for him, and it had run out of gas. This was unacceptable to him, as he walked off staring at his cellphone posting his horrible experience on Facebook.

Obviously didn't understand the first thing about cars, but he knew all about AMG tech specs etc

The next time I take the car in for service, I will be able to easily demonstrate the problem, so there should not be anymore of this "cannot duplicate" crap. AND, I have been running premium gas exclusively and I did try adding Techron, with no improvement. At anything above idle speed, the car runs great.
What was the outcome after having the service bulletin performed?

Thanks, I read the thread and now I notice a slight shake when in park.... Smooth as butter all other times, only when in park. Will need to pay attention now to see what else I find. I had to open the thread... Still under B2B....

Thanks, it seems you are attuned to these kinds of things (as am I). These new engine management systems are creating a disconnect from the mechanics of the engine so well that we now expect no sensations to be felt, which many prefer and many do not. I think an engine idling in a luxury/luxury sport car should be smooth.

I am getting a slight infrequent vibration in my steering wheel (when in gear and stopped) this does not occur when in park. Engine/tach appears butter smooth at idle and AC on/off does not affect the vibration. It's really quite minor and comes and goes, but I don't remember feeling this in my '16. In our other newer vehicles I get no sensation in the steering wheel but feel it in the console mounted gear selector. The weird thing in the Benz is that it comes and goes.

Yes. Until our WONDERFUL Konigstiger came up with the service bulletin, all I could get out of my dealer is that "the car is running as per specs," or some similar rubbish. There was also another problem with a clicking sound coming from the engine area. Konigstiger to the rescue again. Just go to your dealer with the exact info in hand and it seems to work every time. The days of the expert mechanic running down customer complaints are pretty much over. All that said, the car is amazing and I am pretty much attached to it these days. My lease is up in a year from now and I just can't wait to order a 2018.

K-tiger is a good man indeed. Do you ever feel the sensation I describe above...wondering if it might be normal which maybe I didn't notice before?

Yes, I do get that now and then. My feeling is that it's normal, probably felt by few, noticed by fewer, except for folks like us. I admit that I am hyper critical when it comes to noise, vibrations, etc.

Thanks, glad to know I'm not the only one, and in both respects lol.
