Some were probably "punched" for October and will have some extra money on them. May even be able to buy a new S550 as a CPO if that happened.

Just got the news. Trunk money did not increase for November. Dealers were quite surprised hoping to use this money to move cars. Will have to wait until December for any possible change.

The sales GM at my MB store suggested that MBNA may just leave the dealers hanging, forcing them to fend for themselves. Apparently there is enough profit in the line-up for individual dealers to balance out their own P&Ls. Some dealers have gotten greedy and refused to deal on 2015s thru out the year. Time to pay to piper, so to speak.

my dealer here told me the lease pull ahead program for the S class this month is 5 months, they will pay up to 5 months of your existing MB lease towards another lease

Also are you suggesting that they should have been more willing to haggle a few months ago and now that the cars are older and we have 2016's on the lots it's gonna cost them more (in losses)
Seems hard to negotiate on a car when the dealer it taking the loss. Have one dealership only giving me 12% off on a 2015. what a joke! I'm at 11% off custom order new.

Yes, from what j understood from my conversation is that MBNA is not obligated to move cars for individual stores. I fact, he said that MBNA already considers a car "sold" when it is shipped to a store. Special orders and spec floor models are treated the same.
I originally did not believe him when I was negotiating to buy my S in Oct or to wait till Nov. the fact that no new money came out and the risk that MF will increase and residuals decline (on 2015s) reinforces his statement. Dealers now have a fresh GLC, GLE and soon the C coupe as well as the evergreen E and C to make profits. S sedans are not a money maker or volume leader.

I'm trying to translate this into something I understand. Are you saying that MBUSA might give nothing in December forcing dealerships to take big losses on 2015 S classes to move units. This loss will be made up through other more profitable cars?

Yes, but trying to convince a dealer to take a loss on a car is hard. I think they are crazy to think some dumb a$$ is going to come in and drop 6 figures on a car and not know what it's worth. If you have that type of money you're typically smart and you know what it's worth. Just going to tell this dealer every month you wait it gets harder to sell and you eat fees for it being on the lot.

If you like, you can try my Connecticut dealer, however, shipping will probably cost $1000+ to AZ. I know that my dealer in San Francisco is willing to take at lease $20,000 off whatever they have in S class stock over $120K MSRP. Both will give you buy rate money factors and honor any bonus or savings certificates that you may have.

My 2016 custom order was 12% off. I could BARELY manage that discount on a fully loaded 2015 that had way more options than I could ever need (and almost $130k). I was truly surprised. BUT I am totally happy with my 2016 so yahoo for a newer car. My dealer had 14 s550s from 2015 still in stock as of a few days ago........ that seems like a TON.

15 vs 16
Dealers now have ability to pull forward leases up to 5 months on both 15 and 16 leases. When looking at a 15 vs 16 be very careful to look at the residual difference which is 4%. In my case it made more sense to go for a new 16 vs a carryover 15.

Steinhart, great deal! I did the same. I returned my 2014 E320 4matic lease for the S. Definitely a step change. However, I was getting accustomed to the size of the E around town and parking lots. Enjoy.

definitely a bigger car, I drive mostly freeways so the size doesn't really matter, love the ride way more comfortable then the E, seats are amazing
