If you find the car you love is it really worth losing it for $2-3k? Most dealers should be able to get to 13-15% without much work.
Thanks for the response. Never leased so was not sure how the deals compared

Has anyone had any recent experience negotiating a lease on one of the leftover '15s in California? I'm especially interested in the S550e. The quotes I'm getting are all over the place. I'm getting price quotes ranging from 5-18% off MSRP, and money factors ranging from roughly .0004 to .002. I'd love to know what others are getting.

Wow!

The dealers who want only 5% off on a '15 S550 must have been breathing the air from Colorado marijuana smoke. I ordered a 2016 S550 4matic in June with a September delivery with 10% off MSRP of $136,715 ($13,700 discount). Remember '15s have $5000 cash (manufacturer to dealer) for a number of months now. 2016s have $2500 cash available as well.

Actually 5% wasn't the worst of the bunch. The supposed largest Mercedes dealer in the US quoted MSRP, and told me I would need to visit in person or submit a credit application online before they would negotiate any lower.

Guessing that was FJ. They obviously are full of it if they offered MSRP on a '15. No one and I mean nobody would pay MSRP on a '15 with the '16s out and it being at the end of December. Also keep in mind, if you shop the entire US you can get the best deal. I prefer my local dealer in PA but have purchased MBs from dealers all across the US in the past 30 years. I even purchased a 2001 S500 in Denver in 2000 when no one was smoking the wacky stuff in Colorado

Yes it was FJ. When I was shopping for a E63/M5 a few years back I had a similar experience.

If I do the S550e I'm limited to California. You got me thinking though, I may shop regular S's nationwide and see what comes up.

Actually you are not limited to CA. Other states sell the S550e. I think NY does. It appears that Maryland sells them since I found 1 2015 that is at Mercedes Benz of Catonsville for an MSRP of about $114k. You are correct that most states do not sell the S500e but there are more than just CA.

Additionally, if you are interested in the purchase of a S550e the sales numbers in the US are very small. The US sales numbers for the S550e in the entire US are as follows:

July 10
August 10
September 17
October 25
November 21

This is compared to total S Class sales in the US of the following:

July 1414
August 2044
September 1956
October 1921
November 1856

Whoa I didn't realize the numbers were that low for the "e" version.

A couple dealers have mentioned these are very popular and won't last long. At the same time, they have photos in their ad showing a manufacture date of April 2015, which means they've probably had the car on the lot for ~6 months. Too funny!

That clearly is sales BS.

I checked to see how long a couple of dealers have had the remaining 2015 S550e's in stock. FJ has had one of their S550e in inventory 148 days and the other is 53 days in inventory but this one must have been a swap with another dealer since that has been in dealer inventory 148 days between two dealers. A Glendale dealership has had the one S550e in inventory 148 days. So they are so popular they can't sell them in five months. HMM! MB of South Bay has had theirs for 142 days.

I spend one month a year in CA. I did not realize the dealers in CA where so much full of Sh??. Ok maybe a couple--I should not broad brush ALL CA dealers.

Vin of the one remaining is WDDUG6DB7FA200006 at FJ since the other apparently just sold. One just sold is WDDUG6DB0FA181556.

Curious, how do you find inventory of all 2015 S550e's across USA?

Money factor

Does anyone know the current "buy rate" money factor on the leftover '15 S's?

For non-4Matic I believe the MF is .00047 before autopay.

Thanks. Now let's see if I can find a dealer who will offer the buy rate AND a big discount off MSRP. So far it's been either a big discount or a low money factor, but not both.

Try Keyes Mercedes on Van Nuys Blvd, in Van Nuys. They are the 2nd largest MB dealer in the US and have the largest MB showroom in the world. (So i'm told). I've been there twice and its definitely impressive. They have a very large inventory and are more willing to negotiate. You can also try Mercedes of Calabasas or Encino. (I know someone in MB of Calabasas and have a contact at Keyes MB as well) Feel free to contact me. Cell: 818-424-0082

Edit: It looks like the money factor on the S550e's is higher @ .00115. The regular '15 S's are .00047.

Has anyone had any recent experience shopping for a leftover '15? I can't seem to get better than a discount of 15-16%.

I am getting 10% on 16' and 12% on 15' without pushing to hard. But don't think there is much more room. Where are you getting 16%?

Also want to clarify something. The in car wifi for devices like phone, iPads and laptops. I know the 16' has them and hear the 15's do also but just not activated for as long at no charge. Is that right? And also is this also true for the S550 coupe? I am hearing that the 15' coupe does not have wifi at all!?!?!?!

I know for a fact theres a few dealers offering 30k off 2015 S63. I found them on autotrader. I had a dealer down 34k off MSRP on a black/black car, but really wanted a silver car.

The 15 has 6 months mbrace connect, vs 16 comes with a 5-year free subscription.

This is not correct on the MBrace subscriptions.

On the '14 and '15 S Class:
$280 per year for MBrace after 6 month trial
$20 per month for MBrace Plus
$14 per month for MB Apps
(could combined MBrace Plus and MB Apps for $29.68 per month)

On the '16 S Class:
MBrace Connect free for 5 years
$199 per year for MBrace Secure after 6 month trial
$20 per month for MBrace Concierge
$18 per month for MBrace Entertain
(could combine MBrace Concierge with MBrace Entertain for $29.68 per month)

On the '16, you need to buy the $199 Secure after 6 month trial to have the same benefits as the '14 and '15 S for the MBrace Package.

Bottom line, they changed the packages to confuse everyone and get more $ from our pockets.
