OK, so WHO'S going to have the 2018 DOG first????

Well, the refreshed S Class has been unveiled, so now we wait for the Dealer Ordering Guide on the 2018 model. Which of us will post it first? Wolf? Jenz? Come on guys, I can hardly wait!

Oh, and with all the horror stories about the first year W213, how do we feel about a first year W222 refresh with all of those same gizmos and even more??? Anyone holding off until 2019?

Hasn't many of the new features and tech already made it into the 2017 E sedan? Hopefully most of the bugs will have been worked out on those guinea pigs ( early adopters of the new E ) first.

Yup, need that DOG - Been going month to month w/ an expired 24 month 2015 S lease...MB financial not too happy about this for some reason...Glad they retained the Command wheel...I saw early photos of cars with out it.
Wonder if we'll have the advanced headlight features enabled in the US? The cross walk projections, etc. look really cool. The engineering manager suggested that they "fixed" the numerous reported tech glitches on the 2017 E...should be a great next iteration. Not happy w/ the new 3 spoke steering wheel, round air bag design for non AMG versions...goodbye wrist rest...

I wonder how many of the new changed features (like the headlight assemblies) will retrofit the prior year models?

I'm in...Christmas time or so for me..:)

Me too! I took delivery of my 2015 on 12/29/14, for a 3 year lease.

In the US, we can be happy to even receive the Multibeam LED introduced in the new model. This means permanent high-beam with selective LED deactivation to eliminate blinding other cars, etc.

The projection features (lane or cross walk) were never planned for the S-Class facelift and are years out...

The new S-CLass will be more advanced than the E-Class technically while having never versions of the software/hardware which hopefully means no bugs...

No signs of a DOG at this point, which is normal since the intro in Europe will occur in July, latest August.

I have the 2018 S DOG. Someone want to post it? Not sure how. Thanks

The DOG confirm launch date for August in the US as well, which makes perfect sense for MY18.
This is for the exception of the S560 RWD and S65, which will be Nov.

Also, Streamliner will be unhappy with the interior color choices... At least the exclusive Nappa pricing has been dropped to $2160 on the S560 and and the 360 degree camera is included in the P1 package.

gotwire Apr 28, 2017 10:12 PM

I ordered S63 Diamond White, RTS wheels, Night package with 561 black interior and red brakes. I've got to change it up from black S63 and G wagons. 😂

Great! Thanks guys!

Well, I am UNDERWHELMED! As much as I hate to say it, I will be test driving the new Lexus LS500, the Hyundai G90 and the new Audi, if it comes out in time. Hell. I might give my current S550 back to them at lease end and buy a Honda Accord, waiting for Bentley to come into the 21st century with their electronics. This is really depressing. Brown and grey???? As my old CPA (who collected vintage Ferraris) used to say: "the Germans are laughing at us."

gotwire Apr 28, 2017 10:23 PM

Source said updated tech in new Flying Spur not until after new Conti GT next year.

I might be driving that Accord for a while.

Does anyone know what the msrp will be on the '18 s63 and s65?

SB_NYC Apr 30, 2017 01:54 AM

Thank you for posting the DOG, I've been waiting to get my hands on it so I can start planning.

Looks pretty tame. I prefer the current sports package 20" inch wheels over the new option. Anyway, it is what it is.

I am hoping to do a European Delivery again on this one, anyone know the chances of getting a July delivery date even if the S560 4matic is scheduled for US release in August?

With that said, if anyone is also interested in a babied black/exclusive nut brown 2014 S550 sport 38k miles with a hefty amount of options (including magic body control, sport package+1, power rear seats), shoot me a message. :)

quantira2 Apr 30, 2017 05:30 AM

Why the 4Matic is launched 3 months earlier then the RWD? How does this make any sense? Can someone explain..

I called Mercedes and European Delivery office and they both said S560 4matic will not be available until late October, however the posted DOG shows August....any know if this guide is specific for the United States?

Looking forward to this. Love the numerous tech changes in the facelift especially the Apple CarPlay and wireless charging cup holders. I like my sport package wheels better and I wish they'd let you spec the natural grain wood with the warmth and comfort package since it's a great look. Can't wait to get one next year when 2019 model year comes out. Probably don't need to do this, but I usually wait a year for bugs to get ironed out.

The nat. grain has looked really plastic the last few years.....maybe it's gotten nicer?
