Got fooled for a min on this Maybach
So we drove up to Atlanta last weekend and ran across a Maybach in a parking garage. At first I said wow a two tone 19 model. But NO its a 16 or 17 model with someone being creative and adding the two tone paint to it. The grill and the S600 were tells.
Why didn't you take a picture of the vin? The 10th digit would have told you the year and the vin decoders would have told you exactly what it was originally.

That is a great idea but it did not cross my mind at the time. I did sneak up and touch the line between the paints and felt a ridge. I dont know if the factory two tone for the 19 model would have that sort of ridge where the two paints meet.
German I love the two tone but i can live with the mocca black that I have. Now if I just had the 1000HP that brabus can give you on the current Maybach.

It's a Maybach with a 2nd color added (likely via wrap). Nothing wrong with it; its not like the owner is pretending something he doesn't have.

Well it's the OP that cares. Just mentioned a few things if he cares that much. Usually I don't bother to decode a VIN but sometimes if I'm curious, I just look at the vin to figure out the year. Only done that a couple times to cars I see all the time.
Wolf I just thought it was interesting since it has a 19 model paint but the car is a 16 or 17 when two tones were not offered.

You know your cars. That said I have mixed feelings about the two tone paint jobs on any Maybach model.
It sets them apart but don’t think it actually looks good.

IMO, go for the look you love. As long as you aren't stealing badges that dont belong on the vehicle. I have an S63 diffuser because I like the look but still rep my S550 badges, but thats just me...
