2016 S550 transmission issues?

2016 S550 transmission issues?
Hello,

I’m considering a 2016 S550 but read in Consumer Reports that the transmission on that particular year (7-speed) has poor reliability ratings.

In contrast, the 2017 S550, with a different (9-speed) transmission has good CR reliability ratings.

I’ve found a really nice 2016 model with low mileage (12,000) but am concerned about possible transmission issues in the future.

What is your experience with the 2016 SS550?

My 2015 is with MB (cpo thank god) right now for a sloppy 5 to 4 gear downshift, they said its just a software update. I'll report back.

No problem with my 2016 S550 coupe. At 17,000 miles it's hardly broken in though.

2014 S550
Some early versions of the 7Gtronic had some conductor plate issues. It's been well sorted by now.
