advice on front grill damage 19 s560

hey all! i randomly got some damage on the front of my grill on my s560, it either happened while driving or someone hit it in a parking lot or something but what can i do, just bad luck i guess.
i assume i will have to replace the grill if i want a perfect fix anyone know how much that runs for?

secondly any clue what i could do to temporarily cover up the chrome scratch/scuff? i know the black plastic behind is cracked too but thats harder to see so just covering the chrome would be great while i wait for my fix

I would be inclined to look on ebay, they are available, some with adaptive cruise panel and some without. Some with front camera and some without. The price will be a lot less than a brand new grill,

Mine was in an accident (someone backed into me) and the replacement cost for the grille was $510 (not including installation). The damage was the same as yours and cannot be repaired.

Note that the camera in the grille requires calibration. I was told that only the dealer has the equipment to do that.

Removed the grill with the camera and radar unit and when I plugged it back in all worked fine with no calibration for me.

Did you remove the camera from the grille and reinstall it in a different one?

NO i removed the grill to replace the cover that covers the radar. So no the camera remained in the grill.

I replaced my grill..replaced chrome grill with all black one. it required me to take camera out of old grill and put in new grill.

all works fine, and no calibration issues. been over a month now and no issues.

The damage can be repaired, but you will need a vacuum chamber big enough to put the whole grill in; along with aluminum sputtering equipment.
That is it is impractical (not impossible) to repair (unless you happen to be NASA.)

thanks so much for the reply! i had two more questions,
what year grill will also fit my 2019? i assume any from 2017-2019 will fit? or is it very specific and i have to stay with the same year
i have the the acc option and night vision (not sure if thats standard) and if that makes the diff for a grill because i think i read on some ebay ads that some dont have the cruise control radar or the camera or something so i was just going to reuse my old stuff, will all my old parts fit? or i have to get a very specific grill with both acc and night vision

Take a look at this video, maybe send the guy a message and ask him questions, it is amazing what he has done to his S Class over his various videos, he even stripped out the whole dashboard and changed it for a different colour on.
In this video he fits the replacement grill but uses his own distronic set up and camera and night vision units, he just fits them to the new grill when he is doing the installation

Oof. I was going to suggest a touch up but I didn't see the big crack lower in the black area. I agree.. Comprehensive insurance if you have it.

One thing I did notice when I changed my factory chrome grill to the all black one was, the factory grill had a long strip of rubber seal, I am imagining was to promote water run off to the side of the grill from the top of grill.

the black one did not have that. I still have the same amount of space between the top of the grill and the hood as I did with the original grill, so I don’t think its an issue.

I think $510 for a factory part is cheaper.

2014 s63 AMG.
Before you take grill out, open 360 camera(if you have that option) and then unplug it, much easier to get out.

Before you purchase, make sure you can get the Top Rubber Gasket that is part of the Old grill. In the attached video, the rubber gasket is missing. if you find the link for the gasket, please post it. I'm curious if the old one could be transferred.

I have not been able to find info on top rubber gasket. On the original grill, the gasket did not come off, or at least it didn’t seem to come off easily so I did not try, as to not mess it up.

I would not replace the grill without the gasket. Its there for a reason. Lots of expensive electronics directly below. I'm sure it can be ordered from MB. Someone will chime in hopefully with the WIX breakout diagram.

i just went and took the old one off my old grill and put it on the new one. I see Konigstiger just posted the part number and it is correct. i saw the part number on my old one. you are right, it helps channeling the water to run off on the sides of the grill instead of on the top, where it could wet the wires for the camera and radar.
