Anyone had the command just stop working
My sound system isn’t working, my media isn’t working, my info in the speedo isn’t working. Back to the dealer for a replacement system I guess. Anyone experienced this?

main battery is only 6 months old. My CD changer will not eject any discs and I have dashes in between my RPM and speedo and the display on the heads up only shows speed no directions as well as the MERCEDES logo stays on a very long time. Everything works except the sound system (radio does work, just not the rest of the sound system) and the phone will not work, nothing loads. I can't get the buttons to respond to any commands. The "Hill Hold" works perfectly, ( that's usually is the tell tale that the secondary battery is bad).

Time for a AV reset. IF I recall you hold the CD Eject button down for roughly 20 seconds and that resets the system. HAd this happen ONCE on my Maybach and ONCE on my AMG GTc and both times the reset solved the problem and it has never returned.

Had that happen the other day on my 2020. Holding down the power button reset it and it was fine

These cars can be kind of quirky sometimes, my car has been loosing the seat massager function on both driver and passenger after the car is running for a while and then you stop and turn off the car and restart it and it works fine, strange. I guess next oil change in 5K miles I'll mention it so they can tell me everything is normal, lol. At least a problem like the whole display going down they cant say that is normal, but sounds like the car is out of warrantee though. I guess thats why nobody wants to own these cars out of warranty. I wonder how many dealers have just reset something and then say they replaced some module or something and charged $2500.00?.

Did the reset 3 times, still no media content and there are dashes in the display between my speedo and my RPM gauge, as well as on the heads up display ( only the speedo shows on the heads up, no directions). No audio and only the radio works. The map shows but the media button is dead and I can't access anything to do with the infotainment system at all. no Bluetooth phone connection either. I think maybe my head unit took a crap on me.

Totally agree. I always buy a CPO, highly maintained and cared for is the key. Not just some lease return with 2 oil changes. Creampuffs, privately owned, garaged. The key to good long term ownership is proper care from day one. I have never had a major issue with a Mercedes in over 20 years. America is the only place people believe cars blow up at 100k. I am a maintenance freak with all my cars. But I will say I have been bit once by BMW in a big way. That is a car I will not own out of warranty. Most of the stuff needs to be coded and cant be diagnosed without the dealer. Plus poor design and quality. Never again. Mercedes are great quality, easy to maintain, good for long term ownership. We had a new GMC Yukon Denali that had been at the shop 19 times in 2 years all under warranty.....think I kept that hunk of crap?? We have a S550 and a GLC300 presently and not concerned about either. S is now out of warranty, 2 more years on the GLC but its a good one also. I can understand some needing to be in warranty. It is much more expensive trading up into warranty for that luxury.

I still wouldn't own one without a warranty. Sure you've had no problems, but when you do have a problem, the cost is going to be significant. Sure American cars may have more issues, but their parts are much cheaper, anybody can work on one, etc. Warranties are just insurance polcies. if you are prepared for and okay with having to part with $5,000 at a drop of a hat, then you don't need a warranty.
I wouldn't have owned my prior Lexus LS460L without a warranty either.

For me the desire to lease new cars vs dealing with older cars and potential repairs is just one of ease. I just don't want to be bothered, give me a set amount every month I pay, when its up I get a new one. Easy. I don't want to have the uncertainty in my life whether or not my car may need a repair and coordinating getting it to the independent shop...I just can't be bothered.
