It's easily doable but will look dumb unless you also change the rear bumper and side skirts.

I’ll be selling my original AMG bumper from my 2015 S550 in a week or so. I had to do the facelift because of a faulty headlight.

I haven’t done it yet. But it’s plug and play as far the conversion goes. The lights are specifically made for pre face lift w222. There’s a few versions depending on the options your particular W222 has so make sure you pick one that matches up. I’m only doing the front as I’m not a fan of the facelift w222 taillights. IMO they look like e class/c class taillights. The w222 pre facelift have a unique design. My rear bumper also looks fine as it’s the AMG sport package one.

I’ve done same type of conversions on my G63, RR and countless bmws. The fitment and quality is generally like OEM for these facelift parts.

It’s funny people are always so afraid or scared thinking aftermarket is some big no no. In many cases it’s not worth it but in many cases it is. OEM doesn’t always mean perfect either…..look at the headlights on our cars. They leak like that from factory and it’s considered “normal”.

Not really but you need the bumper and all associated components. So the question is wether you use a take-off, aftermarket or new MB parts. Each will have different requirements.
A take-off may have to be repaired and/or painted and should be complete, a new one requires paint and a lot of components (and a bigger wallet) and aftermarket will make it look factory but nothing matches OEM parts even if the whole thing fits.

Most important is that the car looks coherent all around. Just installing an AMG style bumper without the side skirts, rear bumper/diffuser and appropriate wheels will make the car look inferior to the original design.

I thought unlike previous gen S Classes, the W222 with amg sport doesn't have the chrome strip on the bottom of the door panels which seem to be separate from the side skirts and sunken into the body panelling; wouldn't changing the front/rear bumpers and side skirts still have a retrofitted look given the visible trim remaining?

The chrome trim is simply taped-on. Personally I’d love to add it to my Sport pack car but they are quite costly.
