Squeaky Wheel Sound when Engine is Cold 2018 S560 4Matic

Hi all,
I have a 2018 S560 4M, warranty just ended. I noticed that when I start the car in the morning, I hear a squeaky wheel turning inside of the engine bay.
The car runs without issues, even when, standing behind it, it rumbles nicely from the exhaust tips.

maybe I’m noticing it more now? I am annoyed by it a bit. here is a short video I took:

https://youtu.be/6jTNPiJA_EM

what do you think?

Never easy to tell from video but most likely a pulley, remove V belt and start engine (briefly) to check.

Agreed, usually the pulley goes bad. Mine went out at 38k. I still get a small chrip on cold mornings.

is this something that would be covered under warranty or prepaid maintenance?

Factory warranty for sure. If warranty expired 30-60 days ago request MB (with dealer support) approve goodwill repair.

Thanks - it was the Certified Preowned Warranty that expired, not the original Factory Warranty (that one expired a year ago). Ok I googled that there is a bunch of pulleys that need to be replaced if it squeaks...

Still, doesn't hurt to ask for goodwill if within 30-60 days of expiration.

Squirt some water or Belt Dressing on the belt and see if it stops. It will help point the finger...

I have this issue too...

I have this issue and the dealership did fix the pulley under my certified preowned warranty... But, the sound is back about a month later and so its back with them today. I was already prepped with "we may need to replace the belt itself this time" which is not a warranty covered item (wear and tear). They specifically told me the belt looked perfectly fine last time, so I don't feel confident that they won't just charge me to replace the belt to see if that works. I am a bit distrusting of the dealership at this point due to past experiences. The sound goes away once the vehicle is warmed up or if it's a warmer day in general.

All Mercedes make different sounds in different weather.

As it happens, our famiiy business, later sold, was built around v-best drives. From all that I was taught, learned as a field salesman, pulley (actually, the correct term is "sheave;" pulleys in the world of mechanical power transmission are flat and run with flat belts, no v-belts.) sheaves rarely wear out. The problem usually arises from the v-belt, and the most common cause in a single belt drive is improper belt tension. Belt dressing is a waste of time and money in attempting to resolve belt slippage, not to mention creating a mess.

OF course, this is maintenance problem.

In my car ownership of over some 70 years and some 30 + cars of a variety of import and domestic makes, including 5? 6? Mercedes, I've have no recollection of hearing an automotive v-belt aqueak.

Are you saying that you have replaced your belts on a scheduled basis and thus precluded belt squeaking?

I neither said or implied that. If belts were changed or tightened, it was done at a dealer service. No way I could possibly remember if tht happened.

Reread for comprehension.

In my opinion, don't use up your good will repair for something that is not expensive. They only will assist once...
