Stripped rotor screw

Stripped rotor screw

Stopped my brake job in its tracks.
that stupid T27 that holds the rotor on.
should i drill it out? I tried to tap it but no luck.
any advice?

I have managed to crack them loose with a small punch after using a small chisel to put a nick in the fastener so the punch has something to grip. Righty tighty. Lefty loosey.

Where that does not work, use the drill.

When you reassemble.... that fastener is only there to locate the rotor. It need not be tighter then the fastener stops + 1/4 turn.

Just drill it out so the head comes off then you can grab the remaining threads when the rotor is off with some vise-grips and unscrew the rest of it. Use some antiseize on the new screw.

is it rubber and just pull?

Does anyone know how to get the parking brake to work again?
i changed all pads and rotors.

Rotors and pads pretty straight forward or are there any tricks?

Drill it out using a left hand twist drill bit. Most autoparts stores carry left hand drill bits.

Ok, i sorted it out.
i did not return the the service position menu for the rear wheels.
came back to the car in a few hours, went through the menu of service position and reset and now all works fine.
brakes and rotors were an easy job.
one thing ive learned, never use torque from a 90dg angle on a torx screw, the need direct torque, like from a handheld electric ratchet. All the other rotor screws came off easy.
i added some anti seize to make it easy next time.
