Coil Pack Extended Warranty
I had a coil pack fail on my 2018 S560, the car is out of regular warranty but the service manager stated there is an extended warranty on the coil packs by Mercedes. A little surprising, Ford did this on their 2003-2005 Thunderbirds because there was an issue with them failing regularly. Is that the case with these cars? Have not seen a lot discussion about failing coil packs here, or at least not much that indicates this is a common issue.

Can't help you with the extended warranty, but I've had the car for 2,5 years now (MY2018) and it hasn't shown signs of something similar occurring. I did ask the mechanic as to whether this is common and he said it wasn't, to his knowledge.

A “Warranty extension” for a particular part of the car is very different from an “Extended warranty.”
I’m not familiar with if Mercedes has offered a warranty extension for failing individual coil packs for your car but your friendly service advisor at the local MB dealership will know off the top of his head.
