Aux Input for MB S 550 2014
I can’t seem to find anywhere on my recently purchased MB S Class 550 - 2014 an Aux input jack to plug in an external music device.
Is there one in a hidden location ?

Dammed if I can find one either ....cannot seem to locate it anywhere in my 2014 S63. Only thing I can figure is that it might be a dealer installed accessory and just maybe there is a connection for it under the console storage are somewhere.

There are only the 2 USB ports in the center console. I have a thumb drive in one with all of my old cd's on it and the other is used to connect the Roadtop Carplay unit to the carplay module.
The USB audio adapter that came with the Carplay unit does have the headphone style jack on it (female) and the Carplay audio harness has the male jack which connects the two units together. When Carplay is on, the music plays wireless through the Aux media.
Maybe you could try connecting your external source to the USB port?

USB should be inside the center console on the front end. At least it is on my 2015 S550.
I think an AUX in jack is only for 3D sound system. Mine does not have the AUX in jack nor the 3D sound system.

One more thing to consider is bluetooth audio. Prior to installing the Carplay unit, I was using my phone to play XM radio via bluetooth and it worked well.
Not sure what type of external audio you are trying to connect but hopefully something here helps.

I’m trying to connect an external CarPlay device with Bluetooth connectivity, but the connection keeps cutting off. For example, when I use Waze or Google Maps on my iPhone through the CarPlay device, the sound only comes through the iPhone, not the car’s speakers. I believe your suggestion of using separate Bluetooth audio might solve the issue. Its worth a try - Thanks

Have you checked out the Roadtop Carplay unit? It's a pretty simple installation and a great upgrade to the car.
I understand if you're not interested in anything more than a stand alone unit that can be moved between vehicles as I've thought about getting one myself for that reason but am glad that I installed the Roadtop unit. It's like it came from the factory that way.
