You know, when you think about it, if the market in China is so huge, why not a “China Specific” front end? If that part of the world wants the front end to be ALL GRILL & GOLD PLATED, give it to them. MB has long produced the E Class & other models with either the standard front end or the AMG Line front end. Why not a third for a market as huge as China? It can’t be that big of a deal. Here in the US, I can’t believe that many potential buyers find these crazy BMW front ends attractive. As someone who traveled to Germany for decades and did business with the stoic, conservative, Germans, I just can’t imagine that customers there are thrilled with these outrageous “in your face” designs either.

Very few German forums around but in automotive circles the new S-Class is considered simply as being more modern inside and out. Haven't seen a single negative comment in mags. Same with the 7 Series although many found the grill to be too dominant. But most of the drama appears to come from Youtube reviews hating this or that, along with some passionate posters on US forums...

Point is that you wouldn't be a customer if you intensely dislike a product or parts thereof. Good thing we have choices, so no need to get too excited.

I don't need somebody telling me not to buy a car just because I express an opinion.

"Powered by a new 48-volt electrical architecture, new technologies will include next-gen AirMatic+ active suspension, which uses cameras to scan the road surface and pre-arm the air suspension and dampers for bumps ahead. New active anti-roll bars will also ensure flat cornering, even at very high speed."
This does not necessarily mean that Active Body Control won't be an option. But Airmatic will come with active roll bars.

"Despite the differing platforms, both the standard S-Class and the EQS are set to share the same active suspension system. A development of the existing S-Class’s AirMatic+ system, it works in combination with a 48V electrical architecture and a stereo camera that scans the road ahead to adjust the spring and damper action on each wheel, allowing it to not only counteract body lean in corners but also to better control pitch."

When you say how much you like a car, my response is not, "Well go buy it then." Car folks enjoy discussing cars, both positive and negative, without needing to buy -- or deprave themselves of buying -- anything. Be a car guy and not a defensive guy. You can have better car discussions that way. It's boring and disingenuous to say everything is great all the time.

You remind me that short kid back in High School who always got in everyone's face whether there was a reason or not, he always felt threatened by any comment, regardless if positive or not.

You are a funny kid, you should buy that 7 series you so despise (your words) just to spite Wolfman who advised you not to buy something that you despise.

Meaning: The Factory 56 will officially open in September 2020. This is where the W223 & EQS will be build. The presentation of the new S-Class will occur in Fall 2020. Ready to order starting in September 2020 (Europe) with first deliveries in November 2020. Again, Europe.
Haven't seen anything firm for the US.

The W222 launch was more internationally orchestrated. The US launch could easily be in late Q4 but would make little sense marketing-wise. I wouldn't be surprised if the new S-Class would launch as a 2022 model, skipping the MY21 altogether. We have seen this on the SL before and likely now again...

You should probably avoid reading posts from me in the future. It seems you are triggered by people who like to discuss cars honestly. Interesting that you refer to yourself as a "Super Moderator".
