Here in the US, I can’t believe that many potential buyers find these crazy BMW front ends attractive. As someone who traveled to Germany for decades and did business with the stoic, conservative, Germans, I just can’t imagine that customers there are thrilled with these outrageous “in your face” designs either.
This made me imagine some Germans thinking the same thing in the early 60's when Mercedes rolled out the finbacks, ie "Why would Mercedes copy such atrocious American designs."

Very few German forums around but in automotive circles the new S-Class is considered simply as being more modern inside and out. Haven't seen a single negative comment in mags. Same with the 7 Series although many found the grill to be too dominant. But most of the drama appears to come from Youtube reviews hating this or that, along with some passionate posters on US forums...

The grille on some of the new BMW's is truly a bit much, and I'd bet if given a choice with an option of a 25% smaller more curved grille many would have opted for it. As I've previously shared in pics, it also appears beginning with the new 4 series they're growing much larger/even more pronounced. Here's the latest on that, but it appears the grille thankfully has been toned down for production...

Grotesque grills ... started with Lexus and now moving to BMW ... may Mercedes skip this trend and stick with timeless, elegant shapes!

I'm not a Youtuber, so you can count my intense dislike for the 7 Series grill to be from a regular person. It is gross and shows a complete lack of elegance.

Easy solution. Don't buy the car Its obviously not for you and the S560 was the better fit...
Point is that you wouldn't be a customer if you intensely dislike a product or parts thereof. Good thing we have choices, so no need to get too excited.

I don't need somebody telling me not to buy a car just because I express an opinion.

This does not necessarily mean that Active Body Control won't be an option. But Airmatic will come with active roll bars.

A development of the existing S-Class’s AirMatic+ system, it works in combination with a 48V electrical architecture and a stereo camera that scans the road ahead to adjust the spring and damper action on each wheel, allowing it to not only counteract body lean in corners but also to better control pitch."

Well since you responded to my post, I suggested a logical option to your intense dislike. People do vote with their wallets after all...

When you say how much you like a car, my response is not, "Well go buy it then." Car folks enjoy discussing cars, both positive and negative, without needing to buy -- or deprave themselves of buying -- anything. Be a car guy and not a defensive guy. You can have better car discussions that way. It's boring and disingenuous to say everything is great all the time.

You are a funny kid, you should buy that 7 series you so despise (your words) just to spite Wolfman who advised you not to buy something that you despise.
You remind me that short kid back in High School who always got in everyone's face whether there was a reason or not, he always felt threatened by any comment, regardless if positive or not.

Meaning: The Factory 56 will officially open in September 2020. This is where the W223 & EQS will be build. The presentation of the new S-Class will occur in Fall 2020. Ready to order starting in September 2020 (Europe) with first deliveries in November 2020. Again, Europe.

Haven't seen anything firm for the US.
So it looks like the earliest for the US will be 1st quarter 2021

The W222 launch was more internationally orchestrated. The US launch could easily be in late Q4 but would make little sense marketing-wise. I wouldn't be surprised if the new S-Class would launch as a 2022 model, skipping the MY21 altogether. We have seen this on the SL before and likely now again...

You should probably avoid reading posts from me in the future. It seems you are triggered by people who like to discuss cars honestly. Interesting that you refer to yourself as a "Super Moderator".
