When I picked up the car from the dealership, the car specialist connected my Android phone to the car via Bluetooth but Android Auto did not show up via BT, only when plugged in with USB cable. She then connected her iPhone and Carplay did show up via BT. I will try wifi when I get the car back.

It connects via Bluetooth. Also you need to make sure you gave it initialized in Mercedes me. Here are a few photos. I tried to keep the phone and screen in the frame so that you can see it connect wirelessly. you have to touch the Android Auto icon as indicated by the green arrow in the photo

Thanks for the pics but none of those screens show up when wireless. I can use BT phone and music. When I plug in with USB cable, then I have Android Auto.
I think the issue is my phone - 2 yr old Huawei P30 Pro - on Android 10. One of these days I might upgrade it but I'm happy with it now. I'll just use the car navigation. Looks like Android Auto even with USB doesn't integrate with HUD or driver display anyways.

I just remembered that I had recently purchased a cheaper phone for backup during travel and it has Android 11. Android Auto does indeed work wirelessly with this phone.

Is ceramic coating worth it? Someone told me it starts to come off after a few years and the paint starts to looks terrible after several years....
