Recall notice
I got a letter yesterday that stated the engine control unit could stall the car and the car would not restart.
Geez and the software update is not available yet. So are you supposed to drive the car and take the chance?
And you need to take it to the dealer for an update, what happened to over the air updates? Scary to say the
least

Discussed here already. At least one W223 owner faced the issue. Over the air updates are not yet for much more than maps and some of the entertainment/telematics control units.

Yeah it is. I worked out a deal for a 2021 S580 a couple months ago, and about a month ago they informed me they couldn’t sell because of recall. Offered me more discount if I was willing to wait.
They told me yesterday that according to MBUSA the recall will be available 21 January. So i will see. We did a buyers order for the vehicle with an agreed amount and both parties signed the order, so its not costing me anything to wait on the recall other than the 1500 refundable deposit i gave them.
so hopefully it will begin in a couple weeks.

Call your dealership. MBUSA shows recall available as of Jan 14th. I just called my dealer to see the status and they are checking as they said they were not aware it was available.
i called MBUSA to ask what does it mean on their site when it says recall available 14 Jan and they said it means the dealers are ready to begin the update.

also they did:: install handle of outside emergency actuator of swiveling door acc. no: 72 960 58

How long did it take to reflash the ECU? I go to the Bonita Springs MB (FL) dealership. They have the software
but I will be the first one they do. Wondering how long I need to stay at the dealership. Thx.

flash takes less than 30 minutes, getting them to start doing it is another story, even after a scheduled appt.
