This is way overstated. I have been cleaning touchscreens with glass cleaners and other interior cleaners for the 20+ years I have had cars with touchscreens and have never had any issues at all.
Not at all. It’s what my owners manual says. Do you also disagree with the oil and grease buildup?
Also, let’s say your method works comparable to mine, in that the screen gets cleaned, and still works as advertised? Why then would you try to delegitimize my method?

Don't care what the manual says, I have detailed many many many cars with touchscreens over the past 20 years and have never had any issues with using glass cleaners and interior surface cleaners on the touchscreen. In fact most interior cleaners now specifically say they are safe for touchscreens. I still have a 2003 Lexus ES300 in my family that I bought new, touchscreen has been cleaned with all sorts of stuff for over 20 years and it still works perfect.

Nothing wrong with your method, but just letting people who read these posts know that you don't have to be that careful. If that works for you keep on doing that.

Oil and grease buildup absolutely impacts the touchscreens functionality, you just have to clean it regularly. In any event we're talking about the haptic controls not the touchscreen.

I was going to do the same thing with the piano black but my PPF guy doesn’t do interiors. Honestly I’ve been impressed by how well the piano black has held up. I’m careful with it but not incredibly so.

Are your fingers moist by chance? Mines are always dry so maybe that might have something to do with it.

I would suggest you clean the pads well with something that leaves a slick surface behind, like an exterior quick detailer spray etc.
