Congradulations on the new purchase, the S65 AMG is the best daily driver in the world.
It looks gorgeous and has the power to outdistance many sports cars, nice to see an avid Mercedes Fan get another Mercedes an AMG.
Enjoy it in good health and have a great New year.

I will post pics. Today was the first clear day here in Honolulu for a little while. I'll see if I can take pics tomorrow.

Preliminary Pics
Sorry folks. It's raining like crazy here. So, in a brief respite, I took some photos...attached. I will take more photos after I get the car washed and can take pictures outside.

Something on 4 wheels..
Yes, I would have ordered the performance package if I ordered the car but it was a car the dealer already had. I figure I can try to get different wheels at some point. I think they are the same as the AMG package wheels, which is a little disappointing, but I'm not one to be too showy. Kind of nice to be somewhat stealth.

BTW, I'd simply order the Performance Package wheels at your dealer's parts department - IMO, the 030-wheels are the nicest wheels for that car (they come standard on every CL/S65 in Germany).
Enjoy your car! Oh before somebody might get confused by your previous post: You can only order a performance package on a non-designo 63, not on a 65 or designo 63.
Aloha! (I lived in Honolulu and Ewa Beach for a few month..)

I agree, given the amount I saved on the car, getting the wheels is no problemo.
I think MBUSA just fixed the Designo/PP conflict. I talked with the Product Manager at the AMG event in Florida, and he had just put effort into fixing the issue apparently.
Here are some pics of things that seem different to me in the S65 vs S63.

That would be great news if MBUSA fixed this issue. When I placed my order on the CL63, they told me I could only get 030 OR designo. That was beginning of November '07. I was a bit disappointed. I also called mbusa at that time (only mbusa, not AMG) to find out why there was an issue, and I was told that the 'style' of a classy designo and a sporty AMG shouldn't be combined. I accepted that 'excuse' although I asked myself why this 'problem' only existed on the new S and CL but not - for example - on the SL where you can get both.
Oh, there is on additional little thing that appears different between the S63 and the 65. Here's a hint:
You might notice it when you open the hood...

LOL! Yes, I am dying to see how the V12 performs. Only 350 miles on the clock at this time!
I notice the front tires are quite a bit warmer than the rears no doubt due to the weight and heat from the V12. About 3-4 degrees warmer it seems.
I should take a pic of that nice carbon fiber cover!
