Got the itch for a new car **2009 or 2010 S63??**

Guys

I've had the CLS55 for a few years now and am looking for something different within the AMG family. The car would be used as a DD and I've got a budget of ~$60k give or take $5k for the right car.

Aside from the facelift of 2010, are there any major issues / benefits of one year over the other that I need to consider in my decision and search??

I am looking for a white / black car with less than 40k miles.

Also - -maybe I get into the 5.5 TT and get a 2012 instead??

Appreciate the feedback and advice.

If its being used as a DD then I'd look at the 2011. The 5.5L twin turbo is 25% more fuel efficient than the 6.2L. It also has a bit more HP and Torque.

I agree with you on the fuel economy, HP and torque but after speaking with friends of mine that are AMG mechanics they tell me the newer twin turbo cars have a lot of problems. I love turbo cars and was surprised to hear that. I have an S63 and if you drive it normal the fuel economy is not bad. If you have a heavy foot the gauge moves as your watching it. I never bought the car for the fuel mileage.

Interesting, I'm thinking about buying an S class also. I'm leaning towards a 10', 11', or 12' 550, leaning towards a CPO car? I love the 63, but I'm thinking I'm better off with the fourmatic, living in the North East.

I'm surprised they say that. I have no issues with my car at all. I drove the 6.2L and the transmission in the newer car is much smoother. I just wish I had that exhaust note on the 6.2L. The 5.5L is much quieter.

Definitely get a CPO car. I live in Canada and wish the S63 came in 4matic (can't upgrade to 2014 as yet)... winter driving is horrible.

Depends on the weather
I'd get an S600 or S65...tuned, heat exchanger, intercoolers, ic pump, etc...you can get good power out of the 5.5L V12.

4matic is definitely handy in inclimate weather.

So I went and drove a couple of 2012 bi-turbos and truth be told, I think I prefer the NA 6.2 over the TT. I actuaactactually found the tranny on the biturbo to be less smooth than the older car. now it just comes to finding a nice diamond white 10 or 11.
