S/C pulley?
Hey guys I am more interested in keeping my car running good than pushing more power out of it. For me 500hp is enough, but if I can make it run easier and gain power that's great. I notice people talk about changing the pulley to protect the blower. This one claims about 50rwhp and says it preserves the SC, but wouldn't the increase in power be from upping the boost/RPM of the blower? So how is this better for it? Is there another pulley that is better? Thanks guys! I'm also looking at the 5 piece pulleys from a few companies.

If you are looking to get 50hp. I would recommend a 83mm SCP and tune.
PM me and we can work out a deal with the idlers. |
I'm not looking for that, sorry.

Have you even done a baseline to see what your car currently puts down? That way you will be know what you need to do to achieve 500 rwhp

All the above and check your IC pump. Both of our cars had dead pumps and we replaced with the upgraded Bosch. I would listen to shardul.

I think you guys are missing his question. He doesn't care about the power. For some reason he thinks that an aftermarket pulley is going to be better for the supercharger. To the OP, if you are looking for reliability then leave the stock pulley on and keep rolling.

Thanks for the info! I assume if the pump goes bad you won't get a CEL? I'll have to look into finding which Bosch pump I should get for my 06 S55 and I'll swap it as recommended. Thanks!
maw P.S. Mine is actually the Pierburg unit... P/N 11-51-7-566-335; I was told it flowed better than the Johnson CM 30 I went in requesting. |

Thanks!

Hey Vince, thanks again I just ordered that pump. I figured I might as well do it, I have no idea the condition of my pump but better safe than sorry!
|
Nice!

I had the pump installed! They didn't bleed it like the Youtube video showed, but the tech laughed and said he's been doing them for years and they bleed themselves. I checked my old pump and it was the original one, not the updated so I'm glad to have the updated just in case. Curious, do they run all the time or only when needed? Thanks!

It runs as needed. You can get a OBD2 BT code reader and watch your intake temps for fun if you want. Much more fun when you know your old pump is dead and can see the difference!
