2004 S55 AMG hydraulic strut diy? Any info helps plz
Hows it going everyone ,
Im sure you've probably noticed im trying to fix and diy my 2004 w220 on some issues 2 of them are the front struts . I'm in need on some diy on removing and installing a strut (hydraulic) not airmatic. I've searched online and most are airmatic/air springs and only found one cl55 diy replacement which was then converted to coils ugh so that didnt help for the reinstalling part
I saw on the vid you have to bleed off the hydraulic pressure that goes to the strut? So after removing and installing a new/used strut will i need a star system??? I know for airmatic u do in order to inflate/deflate strut but im assuming hydraulic is different?

No, give it an hour for the pressure to subside, jack up the car and remove the strut.
The quick release connector can be very difficult.

What Nick said but you shouldnt have to wait an hour...15-20 mins.......like he said be careful with the quik connector when reinstalling since you may "think" its snapped in place but may not be and fluid will **** everywhere when you start the car......fairly easy job with a lift.
