ABC pump install, final step?

I have successfully installed a new tandem pump (never want to do that again.) I lost pressure in my driver side strut as it is now sunk to the ground. I have someone bringing a DAS tomorrow to run a rodeo and flush the system. But my question is can you even rodeo with the car sunk to the ground?

Once you install the pump and start the engine, apply light air pressure to the reservoir, it will prime the pump. Once the pump starts to move fluid, the car can be raised. Keep adding fluid as it spreads through the system, don't let the pump pull in air or you will have to prime it again possibly.

You can use DAS to command the car to the normal calibrated level, it will come up to normal. You can also push the button inside to raise the car and it will adjust where it can.

KEEP ADDING FLUID until the level stops dropping. You want the car at proper level, bled, and then do a final level check.

Rodeo works, but for quickest bleeding, just use the pitch actuation (front-rear), it will force the air out faster.

I appreciate the timely response. I plan on bleeding the line that go to each strut at the bleeder nipple. Is that ok to do before performing a rodeo? Or run the rodeo first then bleed the lines? Also should I rotate the pulley a few times to get the fluid moving then force air into the resovoir?

The system will bleed during the rodeo. I never had any luck priming the pump manually, air pressure does the trick right away, doesn't take much, I use a rag and a simple air nozzle into the reservoir, you'll hear the pump tone change when the fluid starts flowing. From there just keep adding until the level stabilizes, then start to raise it.

Is using a auto body shop line with an air nozzle safe? I heard a horror story of using too much pressure and blowing the resovoir. Also apply air while starting the car correct?

I just fear starting the car and burning up the pump.

Just a little pressure will do, no reason to go crazy. Thats why I say a rag or your hand an a nozzle, if it doesn't seal that well there's no way to blow anything up.

MB instructions say to use an adaptor for the coolant pressure tester and apply 10-15psi.

That worked perfect, pump is primed and ran steady during the rodeo. The issue I'm having now is the power steering resovoir is leaking/bubbling a lot. What could be the cause?

Damn I forgot to bleed the power steering after I primed the pump. Is my pump okay?

Never had to mess with it, the P/S system should bleed itself. Turn the wheel back and forth a couple times, stop and let the air settle out of the fluid. Repeat until there's no more air.

If you have the front end up, you can turn it back and forth with the engine off and get almost all the air out.

Completely forgot to do that. Came home and noticed fluid on the ground. Power steering reservoir was close to empty as far as I could see. I'll give that a go tomorrow and see what happens.

For some reason the power steering side won't bleed. The reservoir has a ton of bubbles. I've tried lifting it up as well

If it's getting air in, it's probably leaking on the inlet side. I fought that on an audi I did, put 2 pumps in it, kept getting air, was worse the longer it ran. Finally found a tiny crack in the hose going to the pump, not enough to let fluid out, but it was drawing air in when the pump ran. Replaced that, it bled immediately.

Turns out there was a rubber cap on the power steering filter bottle necking the fluid from coming though. Fixed that and the pump bled immediately. Slight groaning noise coasting at low Rpms. Possible accumulator needs replacing?
