Is anybody still here?

Who is still left on this forum that is driving a W220 S55 AMG?

I noticed nearly half the posts now are sponsors or wannabe sponsors trying to sell something.

Did everbody bail bail out when their ABC pooped the bed?

My bank doesn't want the damn car back, so I'm stuck with it.

Trying to find a conversion kit for the idiotic ABC system.

I rarely post here because I sold my 2006 S65 after I bought my new W22 S65. The 2006 was 11 years old from its in service date when I sold it. The car was in perfect condition and the buyer is still happy with it a year later. It now has almost 90,000 miles. I spent some money on the ABC but with routine maintenance and some parts replacement the ABC system will last as long as the rest of the car.
I currently have 3 cars with ABC and one with Airmatic. There is just no comparison, the ABC to me is that much better.

I’m still rolling, stock and trouble free. Just put new ball joints, plugs, transmission fluid, supercharger fluid, fuel pump and filter, valve cover gasket, in the last year. Nothing real. Most of that was last done 2010-2011 (ball joints were original). Will do another abc fluid flush and filter before I put her up for the winter.

I don't have a V8K or an AMG, but I do still have two S600TT's, so does that count?

Both are still on ABC and they're going to stay that way. I fitted rear wheels & tires at the front of both, and ABC never realized it's potential until I did that.

Great!

Good to see a few of you guys popped up. Hang in there!

I bought mine thinking I would keep it for 20 years. Now at year 15, I don’t see why I would ever let it go. My next fix is to refurbish the front ABC valve block. Right front corner sags down after 3 days parked. Then brakes. Can you believe I have nearly 80k miles on the original brake pads and rotors?

Call me foolish if you like, but I see these OE stock S55 AMGs as long-term collectors’ cars in another 20 years. Once all the “kids” buy and crash the few thousand cheap ones that hit auctions and used car lots, we should see a turn in value. Just keep nursing the ABC, Kompressor, and air-powered door locks systems gingerly along.

Nick: yes, I value your opinion like a distant cousin. I refer to your and Howard’s posts often. Stick around.

This x1000. Owning a 25 year old 500E has made me a LOT more comfortable owning this S55. When parts go bad, replace or rebuild, keep the belts, hoses, leather and fluids up to snuff, and keep smiling and grinning. Simple enough that even I can get it right.

Cheers, Gents,

maw

AMG's, CTS-V's, SRT's
Still have ours. Love the S55 and with new ABC parts the car is solid. Its amazing what these cars are fetching for price as if nobody wants them. Great cars IMO
