I didn’t think that would help seeing as these cars didn’t come with any other ratio but stock but here it is. Thanks!

You are correct there are no other gear sets offered by the factory, however you will also have to reprogram your TCU and other control modules to accept the ratio change----dream on!

It’s not a dream, I own Star and have already talked with Jerry who has done a few hundred of these gear swaps, it’s just a matter of finding the right gears for me rear end as he is just the tuner... it’s not hard to set the TCU and ECU for the swap at all, they will take upto 3.27’s

Yeah, my friend done that 3 years ago,

he installed "3.27", but not sure from which M/Y diff. he went with, and adapt the TCU as well,

most tuners can do it,

soooo fun.., much wheel spin from dig, but really gain some ET's then..,,

i tried to contact him, but his Cell switched-off, seems his out of country..

Chris, the guys at Quaife or Sun Valley may know. I'd start with Marc at Sun Valley since they did your transmission (IIRC).

Thanks,

Quaife didn’t seem to know or want to tell me which was a surprise, and Marc hasn’t written back yet, and that was about a week or two ago so I guess I’ll try to reach out to him again but didn’t figure he would be a big help on the differential end.

Thanks

Chris

Interesting re: Quaife. I've found over the years that Marc works better by phone. I'd also try Wavetrac, again by phone. Finally, Jonothan Hodgman, down at Blue Ridge MB (outside Atlanta) might know. 404.805.1357; www.blueridgemb.com; @blueridgemb. Jono is the one who first told me about Wavetrac LSD for these cars. Depending upon where you are geographically, Hodgman might be a good one to know in person.

Chris,

My friend called me hour ago,

he said; he used diff. & axles from "2000 S280",

he also used propeller shaft rear one only (that attach to diff.),

cause S55 uses (4) fingers, while "S280" uses (3) fingers,

so many guys tell him to not use "S280" diff., cause i think it uses small carrier (210HAG), it will not handle the "S55K" tq/power,,

but he used the car around "3" years without any issues..

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately I have a Quaife installed in my rear diff so I want to keep my diff and find a ring and pinion to match.

Thanks again though!
