s55 amg non starter fuel issue

hello new here just looking for some help my s55 amg does not start i have narrowed it down as a fuel issue as there is only 1 bar of pressure at the rail while cranking, i have checked pump and is fine as i have gave it direct voltage and ground and it creates approx 6.5 bars of pressure. the car only starts and runs when i disconnect the fuel pressure sensor but i dont know if the sensor is bad or the fuel pump module bad, i have power and ground to the module but the fuel pressure sensor which has 3 wires has a ground, 5 volts and the other wire has nothing,

If the crank position sensor hasn’t been changed, or if you don’t know if it has, change that first. That’s a known failure point. After that I would say the pump, but you seem to have ruled that out already (good work). You might throw a filter in as well (old car), although that likely has nothing to do with your issue.

hi thanks for the reply have changed filter as it needed one anyway but the CKP sensor is fine as the car and drives with the fuel pressure sensor disconnected. I am struggling to find information on what voltages should u get at the fuel pressure sensor connector.

thats the fuel pump module the 2 separate wires go to the fuel pump, the big connector is voltage and ground and the smaller connector plugs in to the fuel pressure sensor which has 3 pins

Unless that sensor is very expensive, I’d just throw another one at it. Fuel pressure regulators are known to go on the old Benzes and I can’t expect that the sensor versions are much different. How much is it? I have to tell you I’m not one for science projects, so I actually couldn’t care less about voltages, connections and grounds for relatively cheap electronic sensors. Unless it’s expensive, my experience with old Benzes tells me to isolate the offending part, replace it and keep motoring. If you’re out for discovery, I can’t help you much.
