Whining noise when driving.
I've recently purchased a 2007 S63 AMG, my dream car and loving every minute of ownership so far. When I picked the car up it was absolutely fine, drove fine and made no unusual noises. I've owned the vehicle for 2 weeks now and after having brand new tyres put on the vehicle as well as 4 wheel alignment done this whining noise has started to make an appearance. It only happens when the engine has warmed up after about 15 minutes constant driving, it's quiet loud and progressive.. the higher the revs the louder the whine. It doesn't whine when in park which makes me think it's not the transmission but i'm no tech. I knew when I purchased the car that it wasn't going to be smooth sailing but was wondering if anyone has had or seen this problem before and can shed some light on the situation? It's a 2007 S63 AMG that's done 72k miles.
Thanks in advance
I would start with checking levels if they are fine then trying to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, this will narrow down what could be the culprit
Other thing to check is if the noise gets instantly quieter when you decelerate, could be diff needs attention, does the noise change pitch when you steer left and right, could be a wheel bearing, can you tell if its coming from left, right, front or rear?.
