Dealer advises new intake manifold/2009 S63
I've seen the RTM engine intake manifold center mounting plate as offered by FCP Euro, but that's only part of the intake manifold assy.

Here's my question. Is this the part that normally fails, or is it the actual intake manifold that's visible on the top of the engine?
What have others done in this situation?
Tasos has videos on youtube showing all sorts of magnesium corrosion causing problems on the intake manifolds for the M156 engines.
Or should I buy a complete new intake manifold assembly?
Thanks, Leo
Usually vacuum leaks cause lean codes.
I would start by replacing the injectors ASAP ! (if they have not been replaced, since they stick open somewhat commonly on the M156).
I had P2190 for a year until I replaced the following:
1- PCV
2- fuel injectors
3- intake manifold gaskets
Good luck

I'm in the process of replacing fuel injectors, pcv valve and intake manifold gaskets per Solo Wing's suggestion.
After watching countless videos from Tasos Moschatos on youtube regarding the M156 magnesium/zinc/aluminum intake manifold, I decided to open it up and have a look-see.
I think I've found the source of my fault codes. It appears that the PO attempted a repair but it didn't hold up very well at all. I have ordered the replacement aluminum part from RMT. It should arrive on Monday January 3.
