Comfort mode gear 1 or 2?

Comfort mode gear 1 or 2?
My s63 Comfort mode starts on gear one but ive heard someone elses starting at gear 2?
anyone want to chime in?
Seems like when i ride my car in c mode and i accel, i sometimes get a jerk between gear one and two.
ive owned other mercdes before and always seem to have started from gear 2 in C mode.

I'm assuming you have the 9 speed transmission. This is a change from the 7 speed to the 9 speed transmission. As far as I know all AMGs with the 9 speed now start in 1st gear in all modes for a better off the line response. The 9 speed also has shorter gears, so it can be a bit jerkier especially in the lowest gears. It's all in the name of responsiveness being an AMG. Regular Mercedes-Benz still start in 2nd gear in Comfort mode.

is this an ecu issue or no? i got an ecu tune on my car and now it starts in gear 2 in comfort mode. by the time i get to 35mph im already in 5th gear. i think i read somewhere that we can reset the transmission so it can re learn the drive?

never heard of any car starting in 1 but ok. if you are driving slow it may go up to several gears until it finds its best rpm, its programmed to do that to save gas. Same reason it starts in 2nd

I have a 2020 S63 coupe and it starts in 1st gear in every drive mode. I had a 2017 S550 coupe and in comfort mode it started in 2nd gear.
I wish the S63 started, in 2nd gear, in comfort mode like the 2017 because in stop and go city traffic, the jerky starts in 1st gear are truly annoying! Any known mods, setups or programs that can set comfort mode to start in 2nd gear are welcomed!

Is the S63 more of a sports car or more of a luxury car? To me, it should be programmed to start in 2nd in comfort mode, since selecting comfort means the driver wants COMFORT! In sport and Sport+ mode it makes sense to start in 1st. in my opinion, they should have kept the start to 2nd gear in comfort mode.
