Used S63 or new 2018 E63s

Hello everyone, completely new to MBworld (going to be buying my first benz). Since you folks are more versed in this than myself I was hoping to have some honest suggestions of buying either a Used s63 (2015 or above) or per-ordering the E63S (fully loaded, and my understanding is only E63S not the E63 will be available in the US). In terms of features, speed, and more value for your buck which one would be your choice? Also concern I have is maintenance with used vs new and if possible to extend warranty on new or used once initially warranty is ending.

In terms of features the E class is far more advanced at the present moment , until the refreshed S comes out

Is the E still a 63? I thought it was a 43 now... anyways, I'd go used S63. Yes, you can buy an extended warranty for up to 7 years and unlimited mileage.

2018 e63S is going to be MUCH quicker than the s63.... the realistic 0-60 on s63 is about 5 seconds and the new e63S is claimed at 3.3 seconds

No brainer, the new E63S is head and shoulders above current S63 in tech, performance, handling and most of all, fun driving it.
Updated S63 will be a different story but the current one I would not even consider vs new E.

Not fair to take "realistic" to claimed, and then "claimed" to realistic... Compare claimed to claimed or realistic to realistic.

I love my S63 a ton, tho, I admitingly know nothing about the new E63s.

What are the new tech features that makes the E better? I went from a 2013 S63, so, this newer S63 is a world of diff tech wise.

You are comparing Apples with Oranges! The S class is the world's ultimate luxury car with unrivaled comfort, luxury and safety features on a larger chassis. The AMG version allows you to move that level of comfort at an amazing 0-60 in 3.8 secs. The E class is a narrower chassis and smaller lighter car with smaller seats and less insulation etc... and much less exclusivity! You can beat and outmaneuver an S 63 0-60 with a much cheaper Corvette or Chrysler but that is not the point! Similary the S600 is more expensive than the S63 even though it is slower. Luxury and Exclusiveness are not quantifiable!!!

While I don't agree with everything haa posted, he is correct that these are two different cars for two different people. One car is a $180k coupe and the other is a $100k sedan with completely different riding/driving characteristics. I think you'll find MB/AMG's data on the market to whom they are catering for these two cars is not similar in any way.
