AMG V12 in the SL65/CL65/S65/G65/600/650 was an epic engine... RIP. Hopefully AMG V12 will live on with Pagani.
As used in the Mercedes cars, it was heavy, the auto transmission was outdated, and V8 power had mostly caught up to it. Hopefully AMG will reveal the S65 replacement soon (S73?) which I assume will be the S63 V-8 + hybrid electric. And hopefully the S63 will be around for a while, the 4L V8TT is a real gem and one of the few turbocharged engines that sounds fantastic from the factory.
