lowering s63 coupe
Hi All,
Been a while since i've been here, but got myself back into a benz and wondering what do you use to lower a car these days. Been driving Rover for few years now, and glad to be back. Could you provide some recommendations? thank you |
Links or ELM. I opted for links on my S63. Easy to install, lil tricky to get them right. |

thank you. sounds like not much has changed. ;) I'm looking to just slightly drop it, not to a point where tires gets ruin within a few thousand miles. Just curious how much miles do you get out of your tires, when dropped?

I guess the difference between the $495 and $1,495 is one controls with remote, and the other via steering button? I dont plan on constantly adjusting so the $495 is just as good as the more expensive?
Congrats on your new ride! |

It is not adjustable through the steering wheel controls though. |
I looked into the RT OBD2 plug in ELM. The simple plug n play had me sold, till I found out the module is married to the car. I didn't like that at all. I should add, after contacting RT about it, I was told for $750 it can be unmarried to the car. |

LOMO1 is the way to go. DIY and all adjustments are made right thru the steering wheel. Ken is a great guy and happy to help.

thanks all! i think its going to come down to lomo or ghost links for me. I rarely ever change module settings on previous AMG, so not sure if I want to throw away over 1k for something i dont use often.

Would you mind sharing some photos of it lowered and how the ride felt after. Thanks. check this out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/282847463816 the video is about E-Class 2018, but it is W222 also compatible I think that the seller is a module developer so you can negotiate for non-married unit no problem https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b6e4815945.png |

I notice they have one for the CLS... but it almost seems too good to be true. Anyone have this? |
I already purchased this device. I leave it in the center console. It does work as advertised. Fantastic product. I can try and get some pictures over the weekend, weather permitting. I probably will never use the custom portion, however the low setting is pretty low. Drives great. I figured this would be great for Cars and Coffee events.

As promised, some pictures with the lowering module. Pictures are with S63 in normal stock driving height, lowered pictures are with the module down loaded in the low setting. I have not tried the custom setting. Works great and as promised. Will probably use low for Cars and Coffee events, to really make the car stand out more. Great mod.

I still need to play with the suspension. I think it drives roughly the same. May try and get out more this weekend. The CCB can be a little noisy at times during the winter, however I do not mind. The brakes are fantastic. One of these days may track the car a little. I had my local Mercedes dealer, replace the pads with an updated set. There was a service bulletin on them. I was out by time, however they took care of it and replaced the pads under warranty. Trying to get to know the techs at my dealer better. Here are some shots of the interior and a rear shot, to see if we match. The cars could be sisters.

It took forever to get the car, but well worth the wait. It was a special build. Its funny, of the 2-3 dealers this car has been at, when they first see the car, they say, I have never seen one like that. I do plan on doing mods, later on. I have been talking to my local dealer and asking lots of questions. That's why I am trying to get to know the tech/techs better. They are a Renntech dealer and stand behind them and of course Mercedes products, 100%. Plus Hartmut Feyhl visits the dealer from time to time. Probably starting with the R2 package, then moving up to the R3+. However that is only if they can do a tune on pump gas. R3+ is for race gas. You cant drive around and take trips on race gas only tune. The R3+ will be a little while, however one day, make it so. I look at it this way. The 2018 S63 is pretty awesome, however, my 2016 S63 is one the last of the big block (per say) twin turbo V8's. The new engine in the 2018 has been down sized. Have fun driving your awesome machine.

Barry, is that still your moms car? What does she think of all this your doing to her car? I hope you take her to cars and coffee with you! |
It is still my moms car, however more and more, she says just take the car. She has been to a cars and coffee, briefly. It is difficult for my parents to walk around looking at cars. I usually take them on drives and for dinner and maybe a movie. They don't care that I take care of there cars and purchase things for the car. The car is pretty much stock for now. Later we will start modifying. That's when the real fun starts. They love the car. The cool thing about the lowering module, is that you can go back to completely stock. I have taken them on drives with it in the low setting with the module. They said they could not tell a difference in drivability. However they are over 80+ years old.

My mom goes to church and the gym and drives an Impala. Lol |
There is nothing wrong with your moms Impala. It probably has a big block in it. So she probably gets to church on time.
