2016 S65 transmission problems
Hi
I asked this a few months earlier but wanted to check again. My 2016 W222 S65 has been behaving oddly since the first day. The transmission acts abnormally when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear especiallly. The shifts are rough and jerk the car or it feels like the shifts were premature. I heard similar problems on the S63 but not on the 65. Do both cars share the same transmission?
Thanks

I am not sure if the two vehicles share the same transmission, exactly. However there have been several updates available for the logic of the transmission on my 2016 S63. The last time I had this done, the car drives completely different. It is a night and day difference. I love it. Have you had your local dealer make sure the vehicle has all updates available? I hope this helps.

The S65 has a torque converter style transmission, completely different than the S63. My S65 downshifts almost imperceptibly. Something is clearly not right and it might be mechanical, not software.

It was October 11, 2017. That was when I had a TCM update done. The only service bulletin I found on a 2016 S65 for the transmission was for shifting gears, like from park to drive or drive to park. Topic number LI27.50-P-049281. Sorry. Maybe they can reset the logic of your driving habits, so the computer can learn your driving style from scratch.
