Lowering a W222 - any experience with LoMo OBD module?
Hey guys -
I currently have a LoMo1 lowering module on my w221 and LOVE IT! it's worked perfectly and has never given me any issues. in researching a lowering module for the 222, I cam across the LoMo OBD which is a 1/3 of the cost and achieves the same goal with the exception that you set it and forget it instead of being able to adjust it on the fly with the steering wheel. Do you have any experience with the OBD and what are your thoughts>? Thanks in advance |
There is a mix review on the module on the CLS forum from the same seller on the lowering module. I personally had a terrible experience working with the seller and the module itself because the module threw off my alignment where when the car is off and 3 of the wheels were sitting on different heights. Took the S63 in to the dealer because excessive tire wear on the outer tires and dealer noticed the car sitting evenly and had to preform a 4MATIC and wheel alignment. Contacted the seller and he didn’t want to allow the return of the module. The Lomo 1 is the way to go, it does require installation, but that is how I am going now, doing it right after first fail. |

I called and and chatted with the owner today. He assured me that as long as I’m not “slamming” the car, the OBD will work just fine. He stated problems with 4-matic and or alignments have been reported when the car is slammed and driven. Ive ordered it and will report back. |
For those following this post the statement that all W222’s have Airmatic is incorrect, only all W222’s with 4-matic have Airmatic. Many of the W222’s have ABC and MBC. Doubt these modules work on W222’s with ABC. |

BTW, I am on stock OEM wheels and tires and had it on the default setting. I don’t think you can slam it even on custom setting which I didn’t do. Anyways, which you have better luck than I did with the module/seller. Cheers. |
The OBD lowering module works just as promised. I have it on my S63 W222. In custom mode. You can adjust it down to -70mm and the car will be slammed. But I wouldn’t recommend driving it that low, because you will 100% cause negative camber wear on the tires. |

Here’s a video it being raised and lowered. Takes a few mins to complete the process. Enjoy! Being lowered.. Being raised.. |

May I suggest getting 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers with longer bolts. It’ll look more flushed. I plan on installing the LoMo 1 in 2 weeks when I get back from business. |

UPDATE:
The OBD modlue arrived and after a bit of fussing around (the menu was a bit different - Commad wheel Vs track pad) I got it all dialed in. It was very simple and as advertised and worked perfectly at less than a1/3 cost of the LoMo1. I am at a -38 front and -35 rear. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...22de4717df.jpg |

Nice, did you upgrade to low profile tires or are they OEM tires? Many I ask the size of your tires if it’s not OEM? Thanks and enjoy. |

The tires were replaced by the prev owner - they're 285/35 and 255/40's Falkins- I am going to let them wear out and replace them with Cont DSW's which I have had a great experience with for an all weather DD on my previous cars.

Thank you for the info. I though they looked more lower profile than factory size and looks awesome lowered. The DSW is a more quiet ride for a DD tired. |
