Car stalls and turns off after initial start
Fellas -
my new car is doing something weird...
Scenario #1: you get in, hit the start button, it roars to life and then the tachometer sinks down to almost zero and then burbles back up and idles. Car drives fine afterwards.
Scenario #2: you get in, hit the start button, it roars to life and then completely dies! I restart the car and it drives fine afterwards.
Its done this 3-4 times in the last week of ownership.. Car is still under factory warranty so I am compiling a to-do list for my tech but I thought to see if this is a thing or not?
TIA

MY17 S63AMG - MBUSA Buyback. MY16 SL63 - Sold MY19 W213 E63s. 2020 W213 E63s Wagon
The symptoms you mention could be the Idler, timing or needs a spark plug change, your dealer will need to do a full diagnostic of your car to track the problem. Did you get a cell warning ?
While your in for service, get your Nav., backup camera software update and ask for a TCU update as well if possible/available.
I don’t know if your headlights ( look at it at night with your headlights on ) has moisture buildup like I did on MY17 S63? If so, there is a bulletin ( technical service document “ LI82.10-P-062051) on this, ask your dealer looking into it if it does, they had to replace both headlights under warranty.

Appreciate the detail bro - I will add the above to my list for the SA. No on the cell warning - no light or anything.
Keep the ideas and the info coming guys

Same symptoms
My 2011 CL65 drives perfectly, perfect cold starts, yet seems to have exactly the same issues when starting warm following a short break, ie driving to the store and restarting following a short stop. It has 29K miles and has Fidelity Platinum warranty.
Any additional findings would be appreciated. I plan to take mine to the mechanic after the holidays and will provide updates.
