Downshift jerk and check engine in my S63 - 2018

hi everybody, i have purchased new s63 2018 since last week and the milage is around 400 km approx. in the 3rd day of my driving the car i got downshift jerk from 5th to 4th only in C & sport mode. in the next day while am driving in high way with normal speed 100 km/h i got check engine suddenly. And once i decrese the speed and downshift from 5 to 4 the jerk is increased more than before check engine. I took the car to dealer and they informed me that there is engine vacuum leak as per the sys. But physically, they didnt find any thing. So they have contacted to amg HQ and still they are waiting their advise

appreciate your feedback if any

thx

It may be a software update that is needed. It’s a new model engine AMG is still trying to learn as you’ll see from the W213 AMG forum

No problem and hopefully it’s something minor. Suggest you looking through the W213 AMG E63 forum since your MY18 S63 share the same engine and transmission. Good luck and please do keep us updated.

Hi,

The dealer has got the reply today from HQ and they have instructed to change the air intake manifold and since the part is not available. It will take maybe 3 weeks to deliver.

But what am thinking what is the relationship between the air intake manifold and the downshift jerk issue !!!

Yeah, I don’t think the intake manifold has anything to do with the transmission. Maybe you can ask your dealer to perform a TCU update or hard rest? Good luck and waiting 3 weeks for a manifold is nuts.
