Renntech ecu upgrade
Has anybody done this ecu upgrade of their car? I'm curious about the results and if they're happy...

I have the ECU upgrade on both the S63 sedan and coupe and I am very happy with it.

Does it solve the low speed shudders and hesitation shifts some complain about?

I have been reading as much information as possible regarding upgrades for my 2016 S63 AMG 4matic. I Have been looking into AMS, Renntech, and Weistec. All have been very helpful with answering questions. All seem to be very reputable. The only down side I found, would be AMS does not offer free reflashing of the ECU, if it should be deleted while your car is being serviced at a Mercedes dealer. Another words there are updates available for your vehicle, Mercedes performs the updates and your modified program gets deleted. With AMS it is only free for one year, after that it is around $500.00-$600.00 every time you need it done. With all three companies you have to pay the shipping and handling. AMS is coming out with some great products, Renntech does not have as much stuff out, and Weistec has tons of parts available. That was just my observation by visiting their websites.

My experience was great...take ecu out and send to Renntech and received great correspondence...they acknowledged the receipt..when the flash was complete and the minute it left to come back,,,(Canada)
Removal/reinstall is simple and the results are great...effortless roll on acceleration to speed and downright gnarly power at demand..and with the added Pedalbox this once 5000 lb slug feels like a real brute...with the all wheel drive it blows off most takers froma stop light..luv it..would do it again in a heartbeat https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...9c6f827607.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7f2cd3c6b9.jpg |

The HP figures on their website just seem off. They list the wrong HP figures for a stock w222 S63 and the gains dont seem to be correct. Anybody else notice that?

Some of the horsepower and torque numbers listed on the web sites I have visited (AMS, Weistec, and Renntech), are either dyno numbers or at the crank. Also many don't seem to list an S63 but are tunes of the C63, E63, etc. I have been shooting a lot of emails to these company's, before I make a final decision. I am in no rush. The vehicle is a fantastic car.

I was in KC on Thursday and saw a beautiful black ML with a Renntech tune parked in a spot next to a lunch joint i was getting ready to go in with some customers. They couldn't quite understand why i had to stop and look it over. First one i had seen in the flesh.

On our tune through mcchip-DKR Software Optimization, we always offer complimentary reflashes if your ECU were to be updated or reflashed by the dealer. For tune upgrades between Stage 1-4, we also only charge the cost difference between tunes so you don't lose the initial invested value. :) We understand that the down time of shipping the ECU back and forth can be inconvenient, so we do our best to offer some perks to hopefully still make it worthwhile. :y |
beautiful setup...

Thank you DKM. Had to special order it. Most of these S63's are black. Everyone tried to get me into a black one. They also were not loaded. I am so glad I got a white one and waited. It really stands out. I have been to two Cars and Coffee's and it seems wherever I go, the car just draws a crowd. It has everything except the executive seating package (needed a five seater), and it does not have the refrigerator. Love the car and very fun to drive.
