s65 transmission noise
in my 2008 S 65 Ihave a soft ie low volume, high pitched transmission noise [ whine] in 3rd gear only, above 1500rpm.not present when car stationary. sounds similar to power steering pump whine but is not related to steering input. immediately stops when decelerating and shifting out of 3rd gear. gear shifts normal. no messages on dash.
Anyone with similar issue. Ideas please. Can't find anything on google search.

Thank you for your reply. It begs the question.
Would a pump failure cause a noise ONLY in 3rd gear.
I should add that I have also noticed a sporadic jerky acceleration in 1st gear from coming off the throttle and then rapidly back on at slow speed.
